so when i got into vaping i always drew on all my devices like cigs. basic mouth to lung hits. when i started getting bigger and harder hitting tanks/devices i started mixing in some lung hits. when i got my nautilus i always had that thing wide open and took long lung hits with a few mouth to lung hits here and there if i was craving a cig or trying to get work done and didn't want a foggy room. now that I'm into RDAs i pretty much only take lung hits cuz the airflow is way to open for a good mouth to lung hit. the past few days i have been tightening up the airflow on some of my RDAs to take mouth to lung hits and i just can't do it. ill be fine taking lung hits and then ill get the airflow as small as possible which is perfect for a mouth to lung but when i take a mouth to lung hit, even a very small one, it chokes the crap out of me. it literally feels like someone punches me in the throat and i begin coughing and choking for the next 30 seconds. i don't understand why this is. i used to take mouth to lung hits all the time with no problem. does it have to do with converting to straight lung hits? any thoughts? and f this has anything to do with it i have increased my water intake since i started cloud chasing

When you lower, restrict, the airflow the vape you are getting is much hotter than with an open airflow. You might not notice that extra heat in your mouth but as soon as you try to take it into your lungs your throat and lungs say No Way.

that makes sense to me but i have the same problem even on a normal clearomizer. i tried taking a mouth to lung hit on my aerotank mini with the airflow pretty small and just can't do it.

Air flow and power need to be balanced to give you the vape you want. With less of one you usually do better with less of the other. I would try dialing down the power when you restrict the air flow and/or take mouth hits and see if that helps. Let us know the results of you try this :thumb:
