I'm new to vaping, and I was wondering about the best ways of getting both flavor and a satisfying vapor. Not too interested in YouTube clouds. Lots of good responses here. I've opened up my tanks, atty heads and the little slots on my batt. Added some more stock sized holes to allow my wicks to absorb well, making them bigger just made it slurpy faster. Got really good flow, but if I draw to my flow, it it's just not that Good. But if I draw nicely, as if it was still restricted, it's vaping at it's best.

I have done both ways. What I like to do once in a while is take a slow draw then exhale threw my nose a little bit then inhale threw my nose I keep doing that till the vapor is gone. That way I can taste and smell the draw I just took which enhances my vaping pleasure. :vapor:

I strictly mouth inhaled when I smoked cigarettes and really never knew there was another way to do it....until I started vaping which has only been since last wednesday:?:

Now I have been only lung inhaling since I've been getting better clouds and flavor. Granted, I don't have a fancy box mod w/ RDA, but I get a decent one with my MVP 2 and Nautilus.

I notice that people have been giving advice to use mouth inhaling instead of lung inhaling. For me I was always a mouth inhaler and I didn't even know lung inhaling was an option. Even when I smoked cigs I would draw the smoke into my mouth first before inhaling. I always thought this was the norm, but apparently the majority of people do lung inhales when smoking cigs. So I was wondering what was your inhaling method when smoking cigs and has it changed since you started vaping?

Waiting on my first ecig but have smoked on and off over the years. Doing some research and came across how to inhale an ecig.
I always took a drag on a paper cig then stopped then breathed in through mouth then exhale. To me that was a lung inhale a mouth inhale was when you smoke a cigar you draw in the smoke and then blow it straight out.

Thanks a lot for this thread and all of the posts.

I had to think back really hard to remember how I inhaled analogs. Mouth to lungs. My first electronic was a cigalike and I had suck on it like it was a milkshake straw, straight to the lungs, until the battery timed out to get ANY satisfaction. Months of that nonsense trained my brain to always lung hit the e-cigs no matter what gear I was using. Fast forward to tonight when I found this thread and realize that I'm taking 4-6 second lung hits on a fresh 18650 mech mod and a Aerotank mini that's opened all the way up. I close the aerotank almost completely down to get a mouth hit to feel right, practiced a few times because my brain kept reverting to lung hit mode, and once I got a mouth hit and inhaled I coughed on a hit 20% as big as the ones I've been taking to the lungs. I thought that was weird. So I took a few more mouth hits and realized that even though the clouds were smaller I was feeling the nicotine more than when I lung hit. The flavor isn't necessarily more intense, but it tastes better. I might be a lung to mouth convert! Well, once I retrain my brain to do it.

All this is to say I've been changing and planning my gear around huge clouds and lung hits and I didn't even know why. Going to keep trying this mouth hit business and may head in a whole new direction when I run out of coils for the Aerotank. Thought I wanted a RBA at ~1ohm but now I'm not sure what to do. Guess I'll keep learning and find out. :)

So I've been mouth hitting for a minute now (inhaling after a mouth hit). The clouds are smaller, nicotine is stronger, flavor is better but it feels like I got punched in the chest after nearly drowning. Is this normal? I tried opening my air intake back up, took a few lung hits and it was waaayyy easier on my lungs. This still doesn't make sense to me. Seems backwards. I'm confused but happy to experiment and see if mouth hits start feeling "right". I literally cannot puff without inhaling. I'd die if I were to take up cigars or a pipe because I have to inhale. I've been inhaling for 20 years, I'm not satisfied without it.

The only thing that sort of works is a mouth hit inhaled through my nose but that only works when it's not windy (how many people have to vape outside, please tell me it's not just me). Just wondering if anyone has tried going from lung hits to mouth hits and had the same experience.

That's why my favourite place to vape in is my car, enclosed and windless, so i can mouth inhale, release some vape and nose inhale it, take a second drag, savor it slowly and take the full flavor of the juice, and yes vaping outside is much less enjoyable to me
