I am in agreement that it is only certain flavors that cause the problem. I have found that I can help extend the life of a syringe by rinsing it with pure grain alcohol/ethyl alcohol/ever-clear between each and every flavor and before storing. I have read of others who have a dedicated syringe for those "problem" flavors, and just know that it will need frequent replacement, but will not have the difficult/sticky operation for all the other ingredients. Or, if your budget allows, use a glass syringe like these.

Or you could be crafty and convert your weights into drop equivalents and stop using syringes... just sayin' ;)

Do you have a link to better quality syringes?
Thanks.
If you MUST use a pump, get them here: SyringePump.com - Syringes and Plumbing Supplies
I recommend getting the glass or stainless steel type, but of course the latter is a super-professional piece of equipment that should NEVER break, and they are specially designed to stand up to the rudest of liquids. Otherwise, get a glass one, 5ml for 20 bucks. If price is an issue, simply buy a box of 100 plastic ones at 5ml for 30 bucks on sale.

Ok, you can get them in 1ml sizes as well, I believe that's $20 per box or a quarter a piece. The glass 1ml syringes, unfortunately due to their complexity are actually more expensive than the 2,3 and 5 ml (at $20 each, respectively) and the 29psi 10ml at $28 and the same price as a 20ml (although the 20ml has only 29psi rating whereas the smallers have 43psi rating. ) at $30 each. The psi rating is important on the glass syringes because You don't want your glass to shatter trying to push thick liquid thru a small opening. Hope that helps!
