I'm new to DIY and I wanted to use the following recipe for a 5ml bottle at 15mg/ml strength.

Nicotine (100% PG @ 48mg) 31.2%

PG 38.2%

VG 25%

M-Type 5%

Tob Abs (Diluted 50%) 0.5% or 1 very small drop

This recipe comes out gross. It's VERY grassy flavored and doesn't have that nutty/cereal taste that good vendor flavors have. The M-Type is what I'm told gives it that familiar flavor, but M-Type alone taste faint. Anyone have a good recipe (using these two flavors)?

Btw "M-Type" tobacco is supposed to be a "grassy" flavor. I think you should try a dk base or a ry4 base you would prob like that better than "m-type". Perfumers Apprentice - DK Tobacco Base Flavor you can also add a bit of hazel nut Perfumers Apprentice - Hazelnut Flavor. I like to mix this at 15% dk and 5% hazelnut but, everyone is different. I know of some people that add more hazelnut than dk.

Or go with a less grassy, actually I call it hay, note TA.

You are using Nicotiana Tobacum which has a huge hay note like a green tobacco.

If you were to use Nicotiana Rustica, the hay note is much more ......ed and there is a darker tobacco in the foreground.

Or try the suggestions above...

Mostly wanted to add that there is more than one type of TA and they are not alike. Trying in vain to let folks know that the more common tobacum is not all there is.

Yeah, I never understood why they needed a translator for those two guys. They made perfect sense to me.

Of course in the mid 70's I was in the heart of Lansing Michigan... The school house was next to a smelting plant and everyone was dark by the time it was time to go home. We used to throw coal chunks at each other to add to the general brightness of the playground paved with clinkers from the coal furnaces of that plant.
