i wasnt aware of any changes but it is totally possible that they did. i have another new batch of 201 stuff coming in i will compare with the newer ones here. im thinking they will be idenical and that smoore did change things around although i was never told so. if they did it would be my guess is to keep things proprietary but i wont know till i can investigate this further.

I did a quick comparison of my 2 M201 attys and the connector area on the old one seems to go deeper, has threading farther down, and (due to the depth) a longer center piece. Also the threading on the old one starts with the start of the metal, while the new one has about a mm of bare metal leading before the threading starts. I am not sure if any of these could cause the issues I am having but I thought I would post any differences I saw just to see if anyone else noticed them too or had any input on if any of these might be the cause of problems people are having.

I just received 2 attys Friday and your right, they are not 4 hole attys any more, threads start at least 1 mm deeper, they do not thread onto battery's the same.Seems like you get about one turn and there tight? Whats going on with these. Though if I'm remembering correctly they should now connect to 801 batteries now..Can somebody out there could check me on that.

The new m201 attys work well with the newer batteries...but not the old m201 batteries...the draw is very very stiff. I don;t have any 801 batteries but there is no way it will work with them....the attys don't have holes anymore. Like Shawn said they probably did this to keep things proprietary. I am just ...... since I have a bunch of old m201 batteries....that are pretty much useless.

Shawn,

These new m201 attys that you are selling are dropping like flies. I have gone through four of them in two weeks. The older 4 hole attys would last me a month each. These new ones work brilliantly for 3-5 days and then they suddenly stop working. They go from vaping like a ten from one puff to suddenly producing hardly any vapor the next. Do you have any suggestions what is going on here?

i will have to get one out an put it through the paces and see, i was not aware they had changed anything on the 201 until recently. i will try one and see for myself if there is any difference. if the quality on has dropped i will just cease to carry them as i prefer to only sell stuff i personally thinks very well.

Rejoice... I like the m401/402 a lot but a properly working m201 will get three times the vapor and double the throat throat hit of a m402....they aren't even in the same league. The only way to beat the m201 in vapor production is by getting a 6v device. Something is definitely off with the m201 you got.

damn.. now that sounds great. going to have to watch this thread and see what happens with these.

I have been using the 2 new ones and the do not compare to the old ones..I have 2 in rotation that are at least 3 months old running on a AA mod and the vapor is giant, but the new ones put out about 1/3 of the amount..Since the thread is shorter maybe something w/ the battery connector needs to be changed. Could really use some info on this..Anyone have an old battery and can compare it to a new one. Could use some info.:confused:

Yeah, I am really not liking the new M201 atty I just got. Which is somewhat irksome since one of the major reasons I got my Vapre51 was because the M201 atty fit on it and I had seen better reviews on it than on the 801, as far as the atty is concerned anyway. Also, without the airflow adjustment screw, I can't use an 801 atty on it either because there is too much airflow and no vape. Luckily I picked up the 901 adapter and a pack of KR808D-1 cartos so at least I can still use my V51. I just love the M201 for around the house for dripping purposes, as nice as the cartos work, dripping just gave a slightly better vape imo.

But still wondering why they don't work as well? The atty appears to be the same size, etc. It has to be w/ the threaded end.. Very frustrating. I love my 201 after trying so many different Ecigs and wasting a lot of money,I was almost ready to go back to analogs when I read a review on the 201 and have been satisfied ever since..I want the old atty back!!!! :-x

Out of curiosity, how long have you been using the 'new' M201 atomizers? Even my 'old' M201 atomizers that I got months ago took up to a week to fully come alive and produce tons of vapor and throat hit.

When they're brand new they're not all that impressive, but once it breaks in and you get rid of all the primer, it's good as you know.

The new ones produce a lot of vapor with the new batteries and with 3.7 mods I am using. But unlike the older ones they die off very fast and sudden. I went through 4 attys in two weeks and they were all working perfectly when they suddenly died. The older ones were lasting me about a month each. I love the m201 but going through two attys a week is kind of steep.

I know what you mean every time I seem to like an ecig the manufacturer seems to make changes to make it worse. I loved the kr808rd when they first came out the draw was perfect etc...later on they changed the batteries and cartridges a little bit but it made a huge difference in vapor and throat hit...for the worse. The m201 was perfect....I don't know why they changed it on us. I emailed the manufacturer and they were selling 2 hole version themselves. So I really don;t know what is going right now....we have 4 hole , 2 hole and no hole attys for the m201.

Been using on and off for a week. When I first recived them I just verified the resistance and saved them for a rainy day, once I read people were having problems I got them out and started using. Have tried 2 diff wicks, both org and PTB. Admit the ptb seems to work best, probably cause it floods the atty but still nothing like the 4 hole.. One I rinsed w/ pure grain and let dry for 24 hrs,the other blew out the primer only. No diff in either one.
