I posted this in a supplier forum, but wanted to see if anyone else is having these issues. Here's the body:

"I received 2 M401 Manual batteries from Innovapor at the beginning of November. One of them has stopped charging and the button cover has fallen off. When I place it on the charger, the LED turns red but it never charges; meaning no LED activity when I can get the button cover back on, and no heating of the atty.

Now the second battery is dying. Just this morning when it was on the charger I noticed the LED was orange (what's this mean?). I disconnected and reconnected and it turned red, then green when it finished. But - now I'm trying to use it - the LED activates 3 out 5 presses, but no atty activity - no vapor or taste.

What's up with these batteries? Are they defective or is it just my luck? All of the auto batteries I've been using are acting fine, and 2 of those I've had longer than the M401s."

I've tried all the cleaning tricks (wiping the battery ends and cleaning out the chargers. What's next? Is anyone else seeing poor life on these?

I got three m402 manual batteries and a usb passthrough from Absolutely e-cigs. The passthrough lasted 3 weeks. The battery leds never lit up continuously no matter how long they were charged for. They lasted less than half as long as my intellicig might atom batteries (same size as m402) and after a week the led on one of them would come on without it being touched, wouldn't go off and finally burnt itself out. The passthrough was good while it lasted but the only good thing that could be said about the batteries was you got a slightly better draw.

I think 401 manual batteries still have some bugs to be worked out. I had one that stuck on after only a week. The replacement I got is still working but gives very little air flow through the atty making for a real hard draw. One supplier I know of was offering manual batteries until there were so many complaints he stopped and went back to auto's. Auto's are more reliable.

I have the hard draw on the auto's also, but I'm use to it now. Never used a passthrough, but I have been tempted - I'm just partial to being able to get up and walk away though.

I hope the entire M4XX line of manuals isn't this buggy. I like the atty better than the 501 attys because of the flavor - but now I'm seriously considering one of the high voltage batt mods - in the long run I might spend as much money on batteries as I would one of those.

You should look at the battery mod section for the Nicostick. Very easy, well pretty easy and the 14500 battery last all day. I love mine. I am not sure the 401 can handle high volts as it gets very hot on the 14500.

The ones I'm using are all from Innovapor and their Evolution line of products.

Spivey I have 2 401 manual batteries from Innovapor and haven't had any problems with them (they are relatively new). However I just wanted to mention that the IV manuals are EVO compatible but they are not Intellicig branded batteries.

I've seen pictures - don't you feel odd carrying this around in public?

The Sidesho batteries aren't 401's and aren't compatible with m401's. Threading is reversed to a 401

Good to know.

haven't had any problems with them

Mine are pretty new also; just over a month; these are not my primary batteries. Good luck to you though.

Just to reitterate that.

If they're manuals, they're not EVOs. The EVOlution is not available as a manual yet.

Just the opposite, felt silly with an imitation cig. Just seeing pics it's hard to realize how small they are. Stop by a Radio Shack and see a box in person. As far as public use they are the best as they are not perceived as cigs and you don't attract unneeded attention to yourself.

The remaining two manual m402's are still going strong, they charge quicker than I thought (I got new usb chargers that they respond to) and still give a good draw. Personally I find having to press the button annoying and the battery life is a big drawback for chain vapours like myself.

The 510 is starting to grow on me, but I still prefer to use my Janty ego 3.7v mod with a 401 atty. This is possible with a 510 battery to 401 atomizer adapter and the performance is actually better than the standard m4xx batteries.
