I just got my M402 this week and was wondering how it compares to what other people that have/had. So far I'm very happy with it. It seems that almost every thread in this forum leads to talk about the 510, so a comparison from someone that has both would be great. Also, can anyone tell me a proper cleaning routine for the 402? Thanks for the time and a great forum!

I use M401s (same as M402 but with the longer battery) and 510s. The 401's are my favorite. Better taste, longer battery life and I can be doing things with both hands while I vape. The 510 is OK and does kick out more vapor, but you always need a hand free to hit the button and the batteries are very short lived on the charge.

I have both, and while I rely totally on my 510 when I leave the house, I have to say that the 401 is growing on me more and more. I've started using that exclusively when I'm at home. If the 401 just had a portable charging case, I think it would be my favorite.

They're both great though, really, just for different reasons. The 510's biggest asset is its reliability. It hits the same, every time, and the batteries don't run down in your pocket. The 401 requires more attention, but I like the taste and the milder throat hit better lately.

If you're curious, try both. :) You can't really go wrong with either of them.

Oh, and as far as cleaning routine: Opinions vary a lot. I blow my atomizers out 2-3 times per week, or when trying out a new flavor. Other then that, I soak them in vodka for an hour, rinse and let dry overnight whenever I feel like they're getting cloggy or not performing up to par. It's worked for me so far.

I really like my m401/2/

Yes everyone allways goes on about the 510 and as a result i have thought many times about getting one.

But.

The battery life is so good on the m401's that if i have 2 batts on me they will last the whole day when i go out (i dont vape as much when im out as i do when im at home) As a result I've decided i dont really need a PCC allthough one would be kinda nice.

Next up is flavour,

Keep in mind i dont own a 510 but allmost every user has conceeded that what the 510 gains in vapor it looses in flavour. Personally the taste of my ecig is very important to me and i enjoy being able to taste my flavours to the full.

Reliability.
There are very few reports with any tech issues with the m series. The main things that CAN go wrong are the mic swtich and the hole in the battery. Firstly the mic switch. I have never had a issue with the mic switch. I know that other models of e cig are much more sensitive and the battery will active from some pretty small sounds. Im a dubstep DJ and i pretty much live my life in close proximity to some big sub woffers. My M series happily sits in my pocket and only activates if i purposefully hold it right up to the sub.

Now for the hole in the bottom of the battery. This can only offer a problem to those who drip careleslly and dont clean their attys. Drip small amounts onto your atty and dont flood it. And once a day clean you attomiser by holding the wick against a tissue and blowing through it from the battery end (you will see the gunk come out onto the tissue). Assuming you dont flood your atty and clean it then there should be no issues with the hole in the bottom which is found in all automatic batteries.

These issues in my mind are not really issues but there is one thing that i find a slight annoyance. and that is the carts.

The recessed carts are a tad fidley. The best thing you can do when refilling is to carry a saftey pin arround with you and use that to pop up the carts from the bottom of the mouth peice (do not drip liquid into your carts if you have not done this as you will probably miss the cart just a little and get juice in the mouth which is not nice at all). Anyway once you have lifted the cart get the pin and slide it down the inside of the cart and drip against it. This ensures you get the most juice you can into the allready small cart and wont have to refill it often.

This fidley cart is the only slight problem i have with the whole device but a lot of people like the device for dripping/dipping as it has an exposed atty. I do a bit of both.

I recormend that you seriously consider getting a couple of m401 batts from ruyan direct (they are cheap as hell) and then you shouldnt need a PCC. Oh yeah and a pass though is allways a good idea for someone that sits infront of the computer a lot.

I hope that helps you out a bit and removes any buyers remorse. Make sure you stick with the M series for a while and dont get a 510 just because everyone else has one.:p
