machine oil; it's an acquired taste.

On the subject of the OP and the relentless oil flavor that seemingly can't be removed, try removing the center pin. it screws into the +block on the deck. It has a cross-drilled hole for airflow and the inner wall of the base as well as the center pin can be a real PITA to get the oil out of.

As an added bonus tip: Try to orient the center pin's cross-hole perpendicular to the base's airhole when re-installing to prevent whistle. This can be done by noting the position of the cross-hole in relation to the hash mark in the positive contact.

To keep with the (de)rail of the thread: 3in1 Oil ...!

Well, I cleaned it again. A little dawnish on the inhale with a slight oil finish. Great. It's a fresh bottle of my favorite juice. Must need to steep.

And still the winner of ECF's cleanest topper! Steep? The oil or the juice?

Try Dougiestyle's advice.

For all the bikers out there if I could figure out how to capture the smell of a running bike that woukd be my vape of choice. I swear sometimes if the wind is right I can smell a motorcycle long before I see it. But what can I say? I love bikes, and for all my fellow crotch rocket riders the ninja h2 is about to be revealed!!!!!! Cant wait....
Indeed, I used to race a 750 gixxer and run a 1k on the street. With a good fuel/air ratio the smell is amazing. Though there is one thing that beats it. Aside from race fuel, methanol.... there is nothing like standing near a methanol engine blasting out that delicious smell. I probably would try to vape it if they made that in a juice!
