So as the topic says I'm EXTREMELY upset with our local Canada Post Mail Carrier.
Today I was expecting a package. I have been home all morning. I was up at 10am and prior to that the woman was up watching tv (she works nights). So all morning I've been checking the tracking & keeping an ear out for the mail carrier.
Background: I live in an apartment that has slots in our doors for mail. My one cat can hear the mail being delivered at the other end of the hall and sits at the door waiting for it to be delivered. When they deliver to our neighbors you can clearly hear it as its a metal flap in the door.
All day nothing has come in terms of mail. I was thinking that they were behind our their route today as usually it's delivered by 11am-12p. Instead I keep checking the tracking and not 15 minutes ago I see that delivery was attempted and a notification card has been left.
No knock on my door. No notification card (I'll get the stupid card Monday). Heck no mail for anyone on our floor!
This has not been the first time this has happened. It's been like the 10th now. After the 3rd time I called and complained, they said they would address it. Well it was good for a month and then back to this same old crud!
What do I need to do.... Sit in the hall with a shotgun and demand they deliver?
Seriously not impressed!!!
I think it has to do with a weight restriction (not the carrier of course). If the carrier has 100 parcels to deliver they will only take so many with them in the day. The rest will have cards filled out.
As soon as the card is filled out - tracking is updated to "attempted delivery, card left". Problem with cards - they are easy to overlook and sometimes don't get delivered until the day after tracking says they are.
Because Canada Post doesn't have real time tracking - you may not always see the real status of an item.
If you don't get the card by Monday - then something is amis....
Good luck - waiting is the hardest part!
