So as the topic says I'm EXTREMELY upset with our local Canada Post Mail Carrier.

Today I was expecting a package. I have been home all morning. I was up at 10am and prior to that the woman was up watching tv (she works nights). So all morning I've been checking the tracking & keeping an ear out for the mail carrier.
Background: I live in an apartment that has slots in our doors for mail. My one cat can hear the mail being delivered at the other end of the hall and sits at the door waiting for it to be delivered. When they deliver to our neighbors you can clearly hear it as its a metal flap in the door.
All day nothing has come in terms of mail. I was thinking that they were behind our their route today as usually it's delivered by 11am-12p. Instead I keep checking the tracking and not 15 minutes ago I see that delivery was attempted and a notification card has been left.

No knock on my door. No notification card (I'll get the stupid card Monday). Heck no mail for anyone on our floor!
This has not been the first time this has happened. It's been like the 10th now. After the 3rd time I called and complained, they said they would address it. Well it was good for a month and then back to this same old crud!

What do I need to do.... Sit in the hall with a shotgun and demand they deliver?

Seriously not impressed!!!

I think it has to do with a weight restriction (not the carrier of course). If the carrier has 100 parcels to deliver they will only take so many with them in the day. The rest will have cards filled out.

As soon as the card is filled out - tracking is updated to "attempted delivery, card left". Problem with cards - they are easy to overlook and sometimes don't get delivered until the day after tracking says they are.

Because Canada Post doesn't have real time tracking - you may not always see the real status of an item.

If you don't get the card by Monday - then something is amis....

Good luck - waiting is the hardest part!

I honestly don't even understand because she delivers around 9am and the pickup office is barely 10 minutes drive from my house, AND there's a sorting center 5 minutes away..)

Mail person goes to the corner where the pickup boxes are and drops your package in it,then the other mailperson with the lil truck comes eventually then picks it up,eventually drives to the local pickup/drop-out spot and makes the drop.

Glad you got your stuff Z, and yes I've been there myself a few times too. Working from home, waiting for something to show up, only to receive a notification in the mailbox for attempted delivery.

These days, I just get all my vapemail sent to the office, where reception signs for it. No more missed packages!!

No excuses I need my vape mail!

It turned out decent though. I checked the status one last time before going to work and it was waiting at the post office that I drive by on the way to work. So I did manage to get it today, but it would have been better while I was home because I could have played with new toys while I was there.

Oh well. Nic coma for me tonight!

Make a giant sign to put in front of your door that lights up and flashes, for just those days....it should say some thing along the lines of "HEY BUDDY!...I'M HOME!!!!"...

Over the past few years I have ran into this exact same issue. The best thing that has worked for me is to email the executive team with a nasty complaint about the poor service you have been experiencing. These guys usually kick their management team into gear and you get better service for a *while*:

deepak.chopra@canadapost.postescanada.ca President / CEO
jacques.cote@canadapost.postescanada.ca Group President - Physical Delivery Network
doug.jones@canadapost.postescanada.ca Senior VP Operations
cal.hart@canadapost.postescanada.ca Senior VP Processing, Engineering and Infrastructure
mary.traversy@canadapost.postescanada.ca Senior VP Mail

You want mad?! I'm mad this morning.. at postal services in general. I just found out from my Mother and Mother-in-Law, both of who are in India that they have not yet received the Christmas cards that Chloe had made for them. It's close to 3 months since I mailed them out of here. It's the first time she has ever made cards for them.. and signed them too.

So upset right now!!

I've checked my tracking status before and it said delivery attempt made, notification left. I was home, no notice on door or mail box. Same situation as you but I didn't ever get a notification at all. If I didn't check my tracking number I would have had no idea that it was even near me. I called Canada post found out where it was and picked it up. You pay for shipping then have to do all the work yourself.

CP is the weakest link in the vaping chain imo. I recently bought a carto tank from a vendor in the States. A day later I placed an order for some stuff from a vendor in Ontario. I actually got the tank from the States delivered BEFORE my Canadian order! It's pretty bad when $8 International USPS Snail Mail beats out $16 Canadian "ExpressPost"!

This happens to me ALL the time. It doesn't make any sense. New York state beats Ontario. I just don't get it

It just doesn't make sense how there can be so many inconsistencies with CP.

When I was living with my parents I never had any issues like this. Their mailbox was all the way at the end of the box and they lived at the other end of the street. Always had them delivered. Always knocked and rang the door bell.
