I didn't watch Marley and Me because I heard it was a sad one. The titanic I cried all through and it actually gave me nightmares--the horrible scene where the mom and children are locked to die in the bottom of the boat. I will no longer watch local news for the same reason-- the awful stories of child and animal abuse make me cry and have nightmares. The national news is somewhat better.

I'm with blueeyes, it got noticably worse after I had children. Well, old Yeller did it even as a child, and Where the Red Fern Grows, but people stuff didn't upset me so badly until I became a mom.

I can't watch or even think about the Animal Cops shows on Animal Planet. Any cruelty like that puts me right over the edge. Get the kleenx box!
I've had Animal Planet for less than a year and I used to record all those programmes - I absolutely loved, loved, loved to see the "after" videos of the animals when they'd recovered and found new homes.

But what frustrated and angered me was how some poor creatures were left in the "care" of their tormenters - for example when they agreed to put a dog on a longer chain and give them food and water once in a while :-x

The movie that made me cry buckets at the end was Love is a Many Splendored Thing - that was a very long time ago ;) The most recent tear-jerker for me was Magnolia - I loved John C Reilly in that.
