I went to the mall with my girlfriend last night. The guy at the smoke51 was trying to make a sale to a potential customer so I figured I'd stop by and listen to his pitch for fun. He was avoiding the subject of price but talking all about the warranty. When he saw me he asked me if I was interested so I said I didn't need one and took a puff off of my 801. He started asking how I liked it until he saw it wasn't one of his $150 kits and then went straight to ignoring me and pitching his sale to the other guy. When I asked him questions he did answer, but was very quick and jumped right back into his sale lol. I think I made him nervous ;)

I wasn't saying anything bad about the product, or saying anything really. Wasn't trying to take his sale. Even made a few comments about how I'd heard good things about them (the warranty, and how i didn't have a pocket charger). So if he would have been annoyed by me standing there, he needs to find a new line of work as there are much worse people than me who could be around. Sounds like he (or are you making this comment about how you would feel if you were making the sale?), should have a job doing paperwork in a basement with nobody around to "annoy" him :D

Yeah, mall kiosk guys can't stand me either. I always have my Ego or box mod on me, and right when I pull it out they get all nervous and will only give quick, semi rude answers to my questions. They especially hate it when I talk loudly about how I only paid "so and so" monies for a particular unit. :)

BTW, my Mom got ripped off by Smoke 51. They gave her a free trial, then started charging her the 150$ or so a month until she got the bank to reverse the payments. The people at Smoke 51 were rude, and their e-cigs are garbage. They are the reason I thought e-cigs were all talk at first. It wasn't until a friend of mine got a Joye that I saw the real potential for them.

No worries about the trolling. It's true these kiosk guys are way overpriced and may be the undoing of a lot of people who would otherwise be very happy with a real e-cig. But on the same note, they're getting advertising for e-cigs in general in ways that we could never hope to by ourselves. Hopefully for every 1 person that tries one of their kits and hates it and gives up on e-cigs, there's at least 1 or more that hate it and decide to find another better brand of some sort and keeps the chain going :)

Even though I hated the smoking everywhere kit I bought for $108.. it was the best money I ever spent! It got me interested enough to look around and do some research.. I found this place and bought a joye 510.. then an eGo.. then a box mod.. The mall kiosks have quite a bit of overhead so I expect they have to inflate their prices to make the monthly rent. I don't like the way that the guy told me that one prefilled (nasty tasting) cartridge would last me as long as a whole pack of cigarettes though.

Lots of vendors have something cheaper that works much better. For the kind of money the kiosks charge you could buy a excellently constructed mod that comes with a warranty and will last for years. The sad thing is, these guys have to pay thousands a month in overhead for rent and supplies and they have to make a living, too.

Ha ha ha.. Little ..... was "annoyed", huh? Yeah, if someone gets into the middle of a sale for me... I get real upset and unsteady..... but if it were me selling something, I'd be selling the best, for a good price, anyway.

Nothing worse than some maroon who just wants to beat and cheat and gets all upset if anyone tries to out his scam. Waaaaah. Poor baby. Kid needs to go and pee in his own cheerios, some more, and cry us a river of whining!

It was the price of those things that landed me here. I couldn't afford it and thought, "Someone has to have them cheaper."

Same here, but it was the Smoking Everywhere kiosk at the mall that I saw. Ended up buying a Blu kit online (not a big step upward, but this was almost 2 years ago)

It did get me to start doing research and finding this forum. Unfortunately, it makes you wonder how many people try them, hate them and tell everyone they know that they suck. Not everyone will see enough potential to keep looking into them.

Ironically, I got offered a job by the guy at the mall because I had a years experience in another local ecig location, but I told him I didn't think I would be able to sleep at night selling a product for $150 that I knew they could get across town for $50.

I understand their cost. Mall kiosks can run from 3k-8k/mo as well as the cost of product and staffing. We'd looked into it when I worked at the other store so we could compete, but with the extra costs, we'd have had to charge almost as much as they do.
