Hello ECF! Today I am reviewing for you the Innokin EQ. Here we are again; another pod system. The pod craze does not seem to be dying down anytime soon. So how well does innokin enter into this scene? Read below to find out.
I have had the EQ for 3 weeks now and feel I can give a fair assessment of its quality.
This device was sent to me by Innokin for the purpose of a review.

The EQ is a new pod system from long time ecig producers, Innokin. As with most pods, it is a very simplistic design consisting of a battery and attachable/detachable pod. The EQ has some nice things going for it compared to other pod devices and I'll get into that below.

EQ
The EQ is a new pod system from long time ecig producers, Innokin. As with most pods, it is a very simplistic design consisting of a battery and attachable/detachable pod. The EQ has some nice things going for it compared to other pod devices and I'll get into that below.
Device: The "device" portion of the EQ is an 800mAh battery with a firebutton smack dab front and center on it. The top where you insert the pods has two contact pins on the inside of it and some magnets (not visible) to hold the pods in place. There is no airflow that comes through the bottom or sides of the device, as that is directed through the sides of the pod. The edges of the device have a nice slight curvature which makes it comfortable to hold, and the paint/finish is a rubbery texture adding to the comfort. The bottom of the unit houses the USB charge port. I'm not particularly fond of charge ports on the bottom of devices since you have to lay them on their side to charge, but since the EQ supports passthrough, it gets a pass. Also, having the charge port anywhere other than the bottom would detract from the aesthetics of the device. Speaking of, I really like the simplistic look of the EQ. It has a real classy/elegant look to it. Another cool feature of the EQ is the Boost mode. This allows you to push a bit more power through the device and I feel really helps the flavor shine.
Pods: The pods for the EQ utilize Innokin's mesh coils are quite nice. The curvature of the mouth piece is really pronounced and very comfortable. The sides of the pods have little slits carved out which directs the airflow in through the top of the device and into a channel that leads to the airflow holes on the pod. I find this a pretty ingenous way of doing airflow and removes the need for airflow to come in through the actual device. It also helps to close up the device so there are no channels for juice to leak through and into the battery. By the way, I never had any seeping problems with the pods, so however they designed it, they did something right that most don't. The draw on the pods is a real MTL draw and the pods work very well for nic salts. Filling the pods is also really nice. The entire bottom of the pod twists a half of a turn to reveal two circular filling ports; no pesky rubber flap to mess with here. Another great addition to the pods is the included mouthpiece cap. This helps keep lint and dirt out of the mouthpiece while the EQ is in your pocket. Removing the mouthpiece requires only a slight push on it outward towards the top. You don't have to remove the pod to remove the cover (like I had originally thought). One thing I don't really like about the pod is that it is quite dark and makes seeing your liquid level tough. You're going to have to hold it up to some light to tell where you're at on juice. Another downside is the pods are quite expensive at around $4 a pop.
Performance: Flavor from the EQ is pretty spot on for a pod device. It is definitely one of the better flavor pod systems out there. Longevity of the pods seems pretty standard at around 5-6 refills. I was hoping they would last a bit longer since the pods are a bit on the expensive side, but the flavor really made up for this. The Boost mode is a great feature, and while regular mode hit very nicely, I feel like the device really shines in Boost mode. Battery life for the device seemed about standard for a pod system, and charging from empty is really quick (around 1-1.5 hrs).
