I've been seriously testing out all my drippers over the last 6weeks or so.
I have the marquis and the vertex v2 and the aeolus and the Veritas and plume veil.
Considering the magma is so old now compared to most of the others imo its still the best for flavour.
the vertex pushes it close as do some of the others but can any rda beat it?
would be interested in what other people think cos I'm pretty sure some people on here will think I'm insane!

I would tend to agree with you... even with the small leakage problem that Magmas have, it's still the best for flavor. I got a Veritas, and it's *ok* but nothing to write home about. Whoever said that the Derringer could be closed off tightly enough for tootle puffing clearly doesn't know what tootle puffing really means -- you need a TIGHT draw for mouth-to-lung to be satisfying, and even if you close off every bit of airflow in the Derringer, it's STILL too airy! It's like trying to "smoke a straw"!

I hear great things about the Achilles rda having a tight draw, so that's next one I'm going to try.

My Magma was my first RDA and it made me realize 'Oh so this is what dripping is all about'.. Got a Derringer 3 months later that blew it away both flavor and vaporwise. Just last month picked up a Samurai Bonsai clone and that thing beats the Derringer hands down for me. The flavor out of it is awesome.

EDIT: Andria had a good point, drippers all depend on what kinda 'hits' you take. Ive seen people say they do mouth to lung hits in a Derringer but theres no way I could get mine to even with one tiny hole open. I basically just became a lung hitter and dealt with it. Same with the Bonsai, the airflow on that is very similar to the Derringer, only instead of the three little holes for airflow its a big wide open slit. Its all airflow and definitely not for tootle puffing hehe.

The Magma always has had a good reputation for excellent flavor.

I'd say the magma is one of the best for somebody new to rda's.
Very easy to put in the coil/coils.

I would rather put tobasco sauce in my eyes then rebuild the veritas. But once it's up and running that wins the flavor race for me. Plume veil is really close vapor and flavor wise. My all time favorite is still the patriot. Thick flavorful vapor. It's easy to build on and it just looks really cool.

I don't like the Magma either. Horrible airflow.... its like sucking through a straw. You can't build it low without juice popping in your mouth. It just doesn't work for people who like a dense warm vapor with their great flavor. Limited build options. Its not my style at all... this RDA remains an unused, expensive decoration on my jwraps stand.

Paradigm (they designed the Magma) are finally coming out with a better RDA called the Omni. I might give it a try.

I have a Magma, but haven't used it in ages. I've had a ton of RDAs since. Hard to say what's the best. The newest thing in drippers is top air flow. Right now, my favorite flavor atty is the Manta V2.

I like the top-fed airflow too (which is in part why I've been gushing over The Vector). JD Tech seemed to have done good with the Manta v2 -- and although I've been kinda burned by JDT, I think I may want to try out that atty. Thanks for the reminder.

And back to the Magma: I used to love the Magma, like I used to love my Provari. I used to use the a lot. Used to.

I'm excited about the Vector too. I should be getting one next week. Great atty, from what I'm hearing. All the attys I use these days are modified for bottom feed. But most start out as regular RDAs.

My final frontier is squonking. I am so jealous of y'all with your fresh juice on tap! hahaha.

Oh, and Vaperoyalty has The Vector on sale right now for ~$51 shipped! :thumb:

For those of us who are into squonking, ours will come through catfish atty mods, who will modify them for bottom feed.
