I fly so much that I think I can chime in here. Tsa is very up on e-cigs. In fact I've had more issues passing my laptop through security screening than any of my mods, tanks or juice. Making a mod that looks like something else that could be dangerous is just inviting disaster. Now if you wish to buy one of these for use in the home....so be it. You try to take that same mod through airport security and then get mad at them for intrusion into your personal space, well you get what you got coming to you. Hate TSA all you want, you can think they are all a bunch of idiots if you wish, but I'd rather have them on the job than not. Use common sense/common courtesy and you'll never have an issue with TSA or the cops.

In (only) my opinion, I would doubt that most non-gun people would have an easy time identifying a magazine outside of a magazine well.

The TSA might have a slightly different initial take on this.. :D

If they're going through my luggage, they'll probably be more interested in the firearms in my checked bags. ;)

Mods look fine to me.
Legal to own and Clearly Not anything dangerous to be concerned with............to the rational mind.

Good thread for creating negative hype over creative product, not appreciated by personal preference.

My questions would be:
Who makes the Chips and are they Accurate and reliable?
Are the power specs correct?
Is the 510 Stainless Steel?
Does it fit my needs and style?

Last on list:
Should I carry it on trips using Public transportation?

As a card carrying TSA STA, I'm completely baffled by this conversation.

My Mod looks like a detonator.

And I happily brandish it in the terminal with no recourse all the time.

At military security check points I've even been known to joke about what happens "when I push this little button here".

Shipping terminal, airport terminal, carrying Hazmat loads in and out of secure facilities..........

Nothing

Anything

Imaginations running wild aren't going to change that.

But they will result in ridiculous regulation. Congress is full of imagination... and other stuff...

Bad taste is about the worst thing I could say about this but I don't really see an issue with it as someone else said if you can't tell this from a real loaded magazine you've got bigger problems and lots of ordinary things scare you. From the thread so far main worry I have is don't go to the US and give Toaster Safety Advice clearly many have a problem with it and don't want that perfect slice of toast (humour just for those who get overly serious).

Ah, the voice of reason!!!

I'm sure most of you remember the angry "what the heck were they thinking" threads when the Coolfire 2 came out?

I remember seeing these last year online in the development stage. I thought about it being a not so great idea since it resembles a gun part, especially being in America where some states are strict even with open carry.

Despite what it looks like, it seems it's a well made device that has had time and effort put in. If I were in the market for a unique looking device I'd get one. I really only vape in my house at this point and that's where I would want to use it anyway. To be honest I think most of our "normal" looking devices could freak people out when they first become popular in public.
