I ordered these flashlights from DX DealExtreme: $4.89 Compact 9 LEDs Flashlight 2 PACKS And they would make a great magnum mod only problem is getting the PCB out without damaging the threads. In the pic shown the red arrow points to a plate that holds the PCB up to the front. And the green marking are these notches that I put my utility knife in to turn it. Me using the knife has damaged the threads and I can no longer screw the head on to the body. You can't punch out the PCB as shown in madog's video as there is a bevel at the end, I also tried to punch it out from the lens end and that didn't work at all. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get the PCB out and possibly use the PCB with a different mod. Fortunately I bought the 2 pack so I have one torch that is undamaged. Just a word of warning to those who want to make a magnum that these flashlights although cheap, they are a little hard to work with. At least for me

I actually got one of them out on the good flashlight by using a dental pick. But I couldn't get the PCB out on the damaged one. To be honest it really isn't that bulky also the romisen flashlight (sd clone) doesn't look like it would fit 2 cr2s. You can ask all the SD users and they can tell you one cr123 is enough. I'm actually planning to build a magnum to fit one cr123, I think it would be alot more convenient that way for me.

my advice as always with the flashlight for this mod...

buy the flashlight at home depot.. advanced auto.. walmart.. so on..

i made the mistake once of grabbing the version with the bevel.. no way it's coming out without breakage.. so i guess i have a relatively cheap but decent flashlight now..

when you can find them.. these flashlights are cheap enough to not bother with the waiting of DX to ship them.. and you have the advantage of getting a GOOD looksee before paying out for them
