I have noticed that the same size bat(s) have different mah strengths. Take the 18650 for example I have noticed up to 3000mah with the same 3.7 voltage. What does the higher mah mean? Longer life between charges? And is it ok to use any mah rating in a mod? Yes I know to use the protected batteries.

3000mah (Big Red) Ultrafire cells aren't really 3000mah.
They lie. The 3600 mah Ultrafire's are even a bigger lie.
I use them both because they are cheap protected cells.
(please note the word cheap above :))

They work.
I hope you did not pay more than $5 each for the Big Red.
If you did, oh well. I don't sell them, just shop.
