It's funny... I've been doing this job for close to 2 years now but this is the first time I have looked for something like this USPS Service Alerts

Under "Business mailers" click on "Mail Service Disruption Report." This brings up an Excel Spreadsheet detailing the locations affected with delays and the reasons. I see several cities on it that customers have reported delays from. Good info to have if you are a customer OR a vendor! :)

Katia~Thanks! You and NT are greatness. Never a worry with the vendor!

I got my Zotz today!!! Again, NT keeps throwing bottles in the box when I order my Zotz. But this time it was different...my Zotz arrived all 1 piece!!! I won't mind the delay in the future if it guarantees the Zotz will be delivered safely. :)

Nick crushed my zotz... that makes me sad panda

This is torture  I rarely have problems, but seems like one package from Mrs. Jan is a little late from Oklahoma.
Then my Nicoticket and poster hasn't moved past acceptance. Granted it's only been a day on this, but I'm impatient haha. Excited to try 3 flavors I haven't tried yet.

I'm glad to live down south where it doesn't snow and ice doesn't cover streets. Just needs to make it to Alabama so it can move smoothly :) Let's go USPS tracking, give me an updated and like this guy happy haha.

As a letter carrier for USPS let me assure you all that myself and my colleagues take our work extremely seriously, I am certain that what we do behind closed doors to get peoples mail delivered correctly is beyond what anyone on the outside could possibly expect... yes mistakes happen when you handle 1000's of things per day but by the time it gets to our hands and is about to go in your box it's rare as it has been double, triple, quadruple checked by that point.. and yes, occasionally a shady character manages to get a job with us but if things repeatedly go missing or multiple complaints are coming be sure that the postal police will be surveillling them until they are caught, rare, but it happens occasionally. I'm prepared to believe that some stations are different but here in my area of Portland OR we have extremely high standards of service.

Another thing to keep in mind, and perhaps this is of the most relevance, is the USPS is going through a big transition, nearly half the work force is retiring and there are a lot of new recruits coming in. Doing this job correctly takes a fast, focused and industrious mind, a thick skin and a commitment to service... many people of our younger generation can't handle it.. some of these new recruits have screwed things up before they are terminated or just quit from the pressure, but many are prevailing.. over the next year or so things should settle back down a little bit and problems like this should be less common. Again, mistakes will always happen, sometimes something gets lost, but twice to the same person is extremely unlikely.

Thank you for the perspective Dioxyde! :thumb:

As for me I am a huge fan of the USPS, seriously, it beats the crap out of every other Country's postal service with the exception of maybe Japan. This thread was definitely more of a blowing off steam situation as we have our own awesome postman in MattyRetro in the family and was more to do with the horrendous weather than anything else.

Be well my friend and hang out a bit if you want! :)

Anyone live in Oklahoma or close to it and between Alabama? What's the weather like? It's 70 degrees and raining here so I'm trying to figure out from real people instead of what the news says for Oklahoma.

That package is 2 days late from Oklahoma, but Yet my Nicoticket order went from "accepted" straight to "Arrived in Alabama". Now let's just hope the older lady is working instead of her niece and we get mail at 1 instead of 4:30

Edit just got poster and such. Yay Nicoticket for coming quick :)

I dont really fault usps for the time it takes to get on post here in italy. They always make it to the apo ports very quickly. After that, it takes anywhere from 1-3 weeks to get here. I just hope my juice didnt get lost in the military postal system, or tsken by italian customs. We shall see i have in inquiry in for the package. Wish me luck.

Bravo - I personally grow weary of people blasting the USPS. Anyone who knows me well knows I'm a huge defender of the PO. People too often think narrow-minded on this subject. Thanks for sharing your perspective. Rock on dude :)

That said, even I can admit the PO has been slow lately (not that it bothers me), so interesting to hear about the transition.

I think everyone who blasts the USPS should go work for them right now. See what it's like in their shoes, then blast all you want :vapor:

I don't normally say much about the post office. Most times, my packages arrive on time or maybe a day late, even had them arrive a day earlier than tracking showed. But last week, I mailed off two packages, priority 2-day, one to the spa in Maine, and another, an atty for bottom feeding by Chowder in Maryland. I know at the time the weather was pretty dicey, so I suspected that the estimated Thursday the 5th would probably not make. The package to Maine was in Rob's hands Saturday, which I can live with. Not bad for that part of the country. The one to Maryland made it to Maryland on Friday, the 6th. It didn't move again until Tuesday the 9th to another sorting center in Maryland. Finally, it got there on Wednesday this week. 8 days for a 2 day priority mail package. Now, I normally won't fault the post office for delays. Stuff happens, particularly weather, but that delay in Maryland was, in my opinion, without excuse. I get the feeling that once they got it, they figured it was already late, so concentrate on all this other stuff that we have a chance to make ontime and we'll get to the other stuff when we get a chance. Might not be that way, but that's the way I felt. I do applaud the post office in their ability to handle large volumes of mail, but there are occasionally instances that leave a bad taste in my mouth. And the mail carriers theselves? Wonderful folks. But they can only deliver stuff if it makes it to their office.

I'm not angry, just perplexed. I asked my mail carrier about it and he hadn't seen any package for me since the last one he delivered a week or so ago.

After last weeks sucsesful delivery to Fl while I was on vacation I figured a regular order would be no problem it's a straight trip down I 35 from Kansas City to Austin with no odd weather. Package left Wednesday, day earlier than I was expecting so things were good. Checked this morning to see if it might be early which happens maybe half the time and it showed up in Phoneix last night

I understand how Fedex And UPS work and that Air packages go to massive sorting operations that seem out of the way, but it's no wonder the USPS is loosing billions of dollars when they drive a package 1000 miles out of the way. Still time to get it, hopefully I won't have to break into the Virus strategic reserves.

My Nicoticket order was shipped Tuesday and tracking showed it was supposed to be here today, but it made it to Austin early yesterday morning and got down here to me a day early. Most times I find that the NT orders always get here one day earlier than the estimated time. Sorry yours got misdirected apparently. It'll make it here, hopefully without getting into your reserves.:)
