I know the vids and the instructions for this thing describe the light going red when it's charging, and green when it's done. So what does about 5 seconds red with a half second "blip" of green mean?

Also, are these relatively "safe" to leave charging unattended? Ie - putting batt on charge on the kitchen counter and going to work.

No worries. I know what you're talking about and never notice it with my batt but I never watch it. Just leave it on the charger, do your stuff, and come back to it. First time should take 1-2hrs to charge (depends on charge on it) and after that 4-6hrs or so to fully charge. Cheers! Happy vaping :) I am really happy with my TorneGo.

The blip you are seeing means it is nearing full charge. I leave my charging over night.
That is exactly what I thought. I too noticed this last night while charging my Tornado. I also noticed that blucigs will do this as well when you charge a battery in the PCC. The light is supposed to go from blue(charging) to off(full charge) but I noticed that the light will be solid and flash off, and the closer it gets to being fully charged it does this more rapidly, until it switches rolls showing the led mainly off with flashes of blue to get your attention to unscrew the battery.

Side note: I left one of my Tornado batteries to charge overnight, and when I checked on it the next day the battery was some how completely dead with the light still red(charging). I unscrewed it, pushed the button a few times and... nothing. I had to screw it back in to charge again. Is this normal?
