First and foremost, keep it moist. Beyond that people talk about soaking in pure pg, strong vodka, everclear (or pure grain alcohol) to help reduce/remove buildup. I've been lucky so far to have my atty last me more than 2 weeks of fairly rigorous vaping, but I haven't started using any VG mixes yet so we'll see what happens when my next order from Tasty Vapor shows up :)

I've actually had more problems from cleaning my atomizers than I have without it. What I thought was burnt flavor that required cleaning I now believe to be my noob tendency to keep too dry an atty. Bad flavor=needs more juice.
I bought a 5-pack of atties from myPVshop in early January, and I've used three of them. One of them developed an "off" flavor, and I've just set it aside for a while. That's the best thing that I've learned: have extra atties on hand so you can let the old, offending atties sit a while. Usually when I pick them up again, they taste fine. Vapor production, of course, will never be like new, but that's to be expected.
In short, do what's comfortable for you. Chances are, if you clean your non-510 atties, you'll prefer cleaning your 510s.

Hi ivaz - the manual/auto is really a matter of preference, though I think the majority of experienced vapers prefer manual (I do too). It means no primer puff, more control like you mentioned, and doesn't activate due to wind or sound. Downside is it's a little bit less like an analog but doesn't bother me at all.

How often to clean your atty - depends on what you vape and how often, and a bit of luck probably too - not all atty's are made the same. I clean the threads on the battery and the atomizer pretty regularly and blow out my atty's if they get flooded. Clean them more thoroughly about once a week but not sure if it's necessary to do so often. Plenty of thoughts on this, just do a quickie search on the forum :)

ivaz - this one's a bit harder - seems like there's no strong correlation between smoking habits and vaping nic strength. For instance, I smoked a pack a day - reds/mediums/lights whatever was cheapest and I vape 24 but think I might like 36 in the morning. Seen posts of people who smoked more like 2 packs a day but think 24 is too much. So if I were in your shoes I would either get a sample pack with maybe 3 different nic strengths - or get some really strong stuff like 48 that you can cut until you find the right nic level. Lot of great suppliers out there but just a for instance, I ordered some juice from Tasty Vapor - ~30ml at 48mg and a 120ml bottle of no-nic doubler. This way I can cut it down to any strength I like and not lose flavor.

I like Menthol 16 to 18 mg strength. I think it depends on where you get it, if you like it or not. I still have a little bit left that I ordered from Pure Smoker before they quit shipping it to Canada, and it's my favorite. I am giong to need more soon, so I ordered from Vapables, and thier flavor is more spearminty, but still very good. Where do other Canadians order their liquid from....just interested to know what others do??
