Thanks Littlefeather. I did not know that. There is a hobby shop near me too. Maybe I'll get lucky.
I am making a dna 30 in a 1550P that I squared off to get rid of the lean and powder coated with "cosmic black". It's a metallic flip flop color that shows black, green or a root beer color depending on how the light hits it. Green seems to be the most dominant though so I thought a green OLED would look slick.

Anyway, I appreciate the replies. :)

I'm used to deciphering texts and tapatalk posts that I didn't even notice it. ;)

On a side note, I found some amber directional lens repair tape at advance auto parts. It was less than satisfying so I gave up and now have a blue screen like everyone else. :( If anyone else is thinking of trying it feel free but I would rather have my $3 back instead of this yellow roll of uselessness.

Using filters to change the color of LEDs can be a challenge. Most LEDs emit at pretty narrow frequencies, so you either filter out all the light (which gives you a useless black screen), or none of it (giving you no change in color).

The following graph shows three-color ("full" color) OLEDs:

Notice how narrow the spikes are in most of them. I'm guessing that the Evolv screen, being blue, only has the leftmost spike, so filtering out frequencies outside of that band has no effect, and filtering out frequencies within the band will only darken the screen. (I may be wrong, though, I'm no expert.)

Dampmaskin said it much better than I could have. Basically the amber or yellow tape did little to change the color. I tried 3 layers and there was little change aside from making the screen look fuzzy.

I also tried some VHT Night Shades dark tint spray on some lexan to see how that would go. After 3 coats it was a decent shade of black, and the screen looked good through it, but I didn't give the 3rd coat enough time to cure before I started fooling with it and marred it up. I may try using that on another build though.
