Make you'r own kanthal ribbon

i had seen a youtube video of a guy with a heavy Jersy accent can't remember his name taking two pices of wire and twisting them togther. so this stems from there.. i took 3 pices of 32g kanthal cut to size then twisted them on a drill real tight but not to tight don't break them... then i took a square piece of flat clean metal, put the kanthal on top then grabed a hammer and another small flat piece of metal to sandwich it. i started to give small taps about 10-15 or so then took a look nice and flat :) i gave it a burn over the stove before i made a coil.. i wish a had some ribbon to comape the both but to me its working and tasting a bit better.. anyway thought i would share my ribbon on a bugget :) i will try to upload some pics..

Very cool idea! I was flattening single strands of 26 and 28. It seemed to raise the resistance, which makes sense, since I was making it thinner. Three strands oughta provide plenty low ohms. :)

Yeah, hinted to my question. What was the resistance comparison flattening it out like that?
