I don't wear make up very often. Don't see a reason to if I'm just hanging out at the house. Anyway, I found this site thru the Oprah site and it is wonderful! I order all my makeup from them now. Most things are just $1.00! They have the mineral makeup for $5 which works as good as, if not better than, the brand name stuff. It is the only makeup my daughter and I buy now. Register to get the email newsletters first and you will start receiving coupon codes to use, sometimes they are stackable. My first one was for free shipping. I think they have a $6.95 flat rate shipping fee but it is really easy to find enough cool stuff to make the shipping worth it. In the newsletters you get coupons for discounted/free shipping quite often.

That's the way I've gotten about it. Since my accident I don't go out much so there isn't a need to spend tons of money on makeup anymore.

Thanks for the link. I'm GOING BACK to wearing makeup. A friend sent me a picture she'd taken of me and my dog. OMG...what have I been thinking by not wearing makeup!!! I'm pale skinned and you can't tell that I have eyelashes or eybrows. I hate being "vain" but I also never intended to look my age, lol.

I've heard of e.l.f. but have never tried it...... I also had no idea is was so cheap! Should have told me this a day sooner, I just spent a bunch on mimeral makeup yesterday

For most of the year, I wear makeup most days, but in the summer I wear it rarely.

I don't wear makeup anymore except for some lipstick and eyeliner. I am in full warpaint in my avitar, but that was for a dance. Even then I don't need too much if I have had a bit of sun..I tan nicely.
I love to buy it though! I have tons of antque stuff..don't ask, I am a packrat! I am going to check out that site now. Thanks, I think!

I got some of E.L.F last year after a friend told me about it.
Check local stores also, sometimes you can find it without having to buy online. I found mine at K-mart.
I love the smell of the cover stick and all over color, smells like oranges.
I have mineral stuff but this stuff is awesome for the price.

Years ago - I would not go food shopping without a 'full face'.

I gave that up some time ago. I am fine in blush, lipstick and nailpolish.

I also have a war chest full of stuff like foundation, mascara, shadow, lip liner, brushes etc - that I no longer use.

I am the same way with Jewelry. Years ago - I had to have everything, and I mean everything. Lots of gold and diamonds. Now, I only wear earrings. Cant stand all that sutff on my wrists, neck and fingers.

I have lots of beautiful jewelry, including a pricey ruby and diamond tennis bracelet I got from my sailor boy one valentines, but all I usually wear is my wedding ring. Not a plain band though, three good sized ruby hearts (I forget the size but the largest is close to the circumference of a pencil eraser). It's my third; first was stolen in a home robbery (we were there and asleep, Italy is a scary place in that respect, I had left it on the table after doing dishes, along with my gold nugget ring my mother gave me, and my watch, all stolen as. they even came into our bedroom and took my husbands wallet out of his jeans), the second lost a heart and the shop didn't have a replacement in stock, so they replaced the whole thing (thank God for warranties).

I just read over my last post and thought - 'hmm maybe I have a shopping addiction - now instead of makeup, clothes, shoes or jewelry - it is PV equipment. Maybe sometime in the future, I will be saying how I used to buy all this PV stuff that I no longer use. YEAH - RIGHT!

Home invasion! They would have to step over my German Shepard..not that she would wake up.. Sorry that happened to you, it's too scary to think about, but at least they only stole things, not lives.

Hil, why would saying I have P.V. stuff I never use any more be bad? Maybe you can kick both addictions and spend the saved money on SHOES! I would need an intervention for that!

Mary - Puleeeze - do not misunderstand me. Where in my post did I say any of those things were bad? I was just pointing out the different phases I have gone thru in life and how priorities change over time.

Who knows - they could come out with something better than what we are doing now - Like selling packs of different colored, different flavored disposable ecigs in every corner store and gas station in the country at the low cost of a dollar a pack - yeah that's it - I got it - a Dollar PV store!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously - as I got older - buying 'things' just didn't mean as much as it did in my earlier years.

When I first started at my job 23 years ago, I had to wear a suit everyday. Yuck! For the last 10 years we have abandoned that code and dress totally casual, unless we have a meeting scheduled with an outside vendor or client. Anyway, for a while I was holding on to all that gear in case I had to get another job and was required to get into full gear.
Not only did I not fit into them any longer, I got tired of hanging on.
I started having garage sales every year (we are only allowed to have one a year) for the past five years. I have sold at least 75 pairs of shoes and matching bags, 25 suits, 25 dresses, 30 pairs of dress pants, 50 blouses, camisoles and slips of every color and length. I made a few bucks and others in need made out like bandits since I sold designer suits for 15.00 and I paid mega $$ for them. I feel so good that my closets are now under control. I am so well cleaned out that I didn't need to have one this year!
Yay for me! They are a lot of work.
