Hi folks.

Might be ready to pull the trigger on a Midi. Curious about spacers, since the V2 description says, "The Mako V2 has a few improvements over the previous model including a fully adjustable switch which will take out any discrepancies in battery sizes of up to 8mm removing the need for any spacers ..." But on the page for the 14500 LiMn it says to use 2 spacers.

Oh, I think those BDLs are Lithium-Manganese, not Lithium-Magnesium.

Okay, so with the atty connector screwed all the way in, and a battery in, the distance from the bottom of the tube to the bottom of the battery is 15mm. With the switched pushed in, the distance from the switch contact plate to the "head" of the switch (i.e. where the threads end -- where it contacts the tube) is appx 8mm. There's no way for the switch contact to touch the bottom of the battery. Kinda seems as if I did need to order spacers.

For anyone else finding this thread, the answer is ...

  • On the V2 switch, turn the screw in the bottom in/out until the head is flush
  • Assemble your Mako with your batt(s)
  • Screw on a wet atty
  • Hold the switch button in while turning the switch screw in -- stop when you hear your atty doing it's thing
  • Release the switch button
  • Vape :vapor:

In my case, using a Midi and a BDL IMR 14500, the switch adjustment screw is inset about 6mm. That's with the atty connector turned in so the top of it is about flush with the top of the top cap. That's a 510, certainly, with a atty connector using outside threads, it would be protruding some.

If you want to see how it's done:

Skip ahead to the 3 minute mark to get straight to the demo.

I had a phone call today about it also etc etc. and once i explained it its really simple.

Yeah, that was me. My suggestion would be to link or embed that in the Mako / Megalodon pages. Maybe a link somewhere on "how to adjust your V2 switch", because people aren't necessarily going to connect "video reviews" with "how to".

Thanks for the help.
