I'm sure it's been told in the forums (or should be common sense lol) but I'm on my phone and sometimes time consuming to try searching, so I'll just ask...

If you use the same nic strength everytime, do you just make one large bottle of, for example unflavored 60/40 at 12mg nic and then just fill a small bottle and desired flavor? Or do you mix the nic, pg/vg, and flavoring for every 10ml or 20ml bottle you make? Sorry, I'm new to this and I'm just now starting to make small samples to test flavors and it seems like it would be a pain to mix every little bottle individually.

I mix everything fresh, just my preference.

If you're going to mix a larger base batch, you'll want to make sure to enter the flavor % in the calculations, even if you're not adding the flavor in immediately. This way, when you do add the flavoring, it will not alter the end result.

For example: If you made a base with 100vg 12mg, and you added 10% of flavoring to that base, it would decrease the nic-strength and vg/pg ratio.

Make sure to use an e-juice calculator to ensure accuracy.

I tried mixing one big bottle and it turned out to create more problems than it solved.
I believe I mixed a bottle of 70/30 pg/vg. After a while the writing on the label faded. Since I couldn't remember if I'd put any nicotine in it, I had to throw it all away. it was about 240 mls. I had weaned myself off nicotine and i didn't want to start using it again accidentally.

Keep good notes, label your bottles well and only mix up what you can vape in a short time.

Yes, I pre-mix my base. I pre-mix to a strength a little higher than I want to vape. I vape various nic levels during the day, but mostly around 12mg. So I make up a 240ml bottle at 15mg, so with 10 to 20% flavor added, it will end up at 12 to 13.5mg. This makes making up a bottle extremely easy. I measure flavors into a graduated cylinder, then fill up with my pre-mix base.

I also keep smaller bottles of 0mg, 6mg, and 18mg pre-mix around for diluting, mixing or vaping plain.

So far, I've mixed my bases at 50/50 pg/vg, but the next time I make a batch I think I'll use more VG.

how do you all go about mixing the new nic. bases together, stir, shake, hot water bath.. (all the above)?? in what kind of bottle or flask..
for instance I have 100mg. vg/pg base..does the initial product require a good amount of mixing before I open it.. does nic separate by the time it get to me, and then in storage..

I've only been mixing for a couple weeks now. Have had moderate success with a couple flavors and mixes. I think I am going to start making a decent amount of pg/vg/nic base and later add flavorings. Seems to me like it would be the easier route.

One suggestion I would make is if you are using an ultrasonic to steep, don't steep in plastic dropper bottles. I botched 60 ml of juice by doing this. The heat from the UC must have leached some plastic from the bottles into the mix, because it had a disgusting plastic, chemical smell and taste to it. Only steeping in glass containers from here on out.

Good luck on your mixing journey!

I don't have an ultrasonic, yet, but it's on my list. Which ultrasonic do you use?
