I got my very first vape, a Kanger Evod from mount baker Vapor a couple days ago and it's supposed to come in the mail tomorrow or the next day. I only got 25ml of juice with it. I am looking to vape a lot, like 10-15ml a day so buying premade juice would be real expensive.

I was going to make a 100% VG, no nicotine juice but a lot of people say you shouldn't use high VG with clearomizers because it won't work well or something. Is that true? Would 100% PG work? I would prefer to use 100% VG, and dilute it if necessary. I heard to use water or a couple drops of vodka.

I am new to vaping and don't really know anything about it so try to keep it simple. :D

What you can do to help with thick juice in a evod or protank. I use 60/40 vg/pg and have had no experience with 80+VG juice.
I think you'll have a rough ride using 100vg especially with a protank head, both evod and protank heads are almost exact same and both work the same way.
You use a Brand New head, pop the chimney off (Youtube) and have a look inside and see if the coil compares to the ones in the videos you saw on YT, if not then thats a opening the door for poor vape with metallic taste from 2 wires touching each other(hotleg or hotspot). It should have a couple flavor wicks inside...with tweezers make sure they are straight and laying ontop the coil nicely with a bit of each sticking out the side, put the chimney back on but flip that little silicone cap on the chimney upside down and it still seals but opens up the juice channel area, helping with the thicker juice flow.
I've been building and vaping protanks for 2 years now for my wife and I, been using my 60/40.. were both happy. You might have to take several primer puffs before firing it to get juice into the coil but still IMO its going to be tuff to get juice to the coil.
Unless you have a PG allergy and have to vape 100vg I would use pg to cut my juice for the evod coils, starting at 90% then go from there
I would also advise you learning to rebuild those evod coils and you can get some top quality vapes off that evod. Super easy to repair and/or rebuild. I vape kayfuns now but my wife still hitting her protank2 and will continue too..I haven't hears her complain in 2+ years about her protank other than "the coil is gunked up can you change it" with any of my protank coil builds for her.

I started with a similar clearo. It wouldn't wick anything thicker than 50vg. I suggest you try 50/50 PG/VG.

When you're ready to make your own, you'll want some good software (I recommend Ejuice Me Up - eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator ), a few good recipes (which you can find in the Recipes forum) and your supplies (bottles, syringes, flavors, VG, PG, nic - you can get all of this from wizardlabs.com )

I also suggest reading a LOT of the DIY forum - when I first started I read a lot while waiting for my supplies to arrive. Thought I knew what I was doing. Realized too late that I hadn't thought my measuring techniques through very well, but it was still ok, just not as accurate. :)

I can only assume you prefer to mix @ 100 % of either is so you have no measuring to do ? Your coils are 2.2 ohm and running on lower wattage so @ 100 % VG the wick would never be able to keep even with a few drops of distilled water @ 100 % PG the throat hit would kick like a mule, so maybe use measuring devises like droplets / syringes and mix 10ml bottles with various mixes starting with 50/50 and see what works best for you.

I normally stay out of topics like this, but I was compelled to post...

(Not being nasty or anything)

Did no-one else catch the OP's statement of "wants to vape 10-15 ml A DAY on a Kanger EVOD"???:shock::shock:

10 ml = ~5 fills on a standard Kanger EVOD tank (1.8ml capacity)

That setup is nowhere near powerful enough for that purpose, you'd basically be huffing it as hard as you can 24/7! :eek:o_O:confused:

(When I used a Kanger kit, I was running 1.5-1.8 ohm heads and constantly puffing on my anti-smoke stick like it was going out of style and I never managed to go over 4ml a day. )

VG is recommended to be able to dilute with distilled water at no higher than 10%. I would recommend getting PG and going the 50/50 route. You can get a gallon of USP PG at Tractor Supply for $23.

I've had no problem with up to 70VG/30PG in any of my clearos, but when I tried a Max VG, I feel like I'm sucking so hard just to get a hint of flavor and vapor. So, those are only used in my subtank, and I don't buy very much in that ratio. I still think 70/30 would be okay from my experience.

Is that PURCHASED or DIY 60vg? Because I have found that premade juices claiming to be 70vg are a lot thinner than my DIY 70vg. I don't know if they're getting their mixes wrong, adding water, or what, but I've had it happen a LOT.

That is DIY with no water or vodka or such added using esssiential depot VG and TSC PG.
It is also with cotton wicks, but works with the factory silica ones as well till the burnt flavor wicks get to adding flavor and I change them to cotton.

Yeah, I was kind of wondering about that.

@Mainline -- Even if you WANT to vape 10-15ml a day, you probably won't be able to. Try your set-up when you get it, maybe order some more juice, and see how it goes. You might find that you are fine with pre-made juice, and then want to move into DIY later when you find out what you like. Good luck!

I think you shall be hard pressed to vape 10-15 ml a day in a Kanger Evod, unless you do nothing else but vape, real hard, however... I wanted to ask why the premium on doing max VG? I've been doing DIY for a couple years now, and my own juice is 60% PG, 40% VG, and vapes marvelously. What's the attraction of Max VG?

If you only bought 1 Kangertech EVOD set up you will not be able to keep up battery wise trying to go through that much e-liquid. I would like to know where you ever got the idea you could go through that much on that set up?? :pop: I should tell you I use Ego batteries and EVOD like toppers and love them. :D

I would highly recommend upgrading your battery and tank setup if you wanna go for more than 1/3 of your initial estimate. With a sig30 and a Nautilus Mini, I go through about 8ml of 80/20 (PG/vg) juice a day, which is a lot thinner than what most people here are recommending. If you wanna go crazy on VG, you're in for a world of disappointment. If you want something compact that will go through that much juice a day, get a Subtank Mini and either a couple of iSticks in 30W or a Sigelei Mini, a 4-pack of Samsung 25R batteries and a decent charger like Soshine H2 or H4 or Nitecore i2 or i4 (in both cases, the numbers denote the number of batteries the charger can charge at the same time). Yes, you'll spend a few bucks but at least you'll have the right hardware for a good amount of heavy vaping. Also buy a couple of 510 to 510 adapters ($1.50ish) or heat sinks ($3-5) to protect the threads if you're gonna go with a Sigelei Mini.
