Malic Acid... Am I using too much? Too Little?

I recently purchased 20 grams of Malic Acid from ECX along with a 2 dram vial for it. I mixed up some Flavour Art Raspberry at 1.7% Flavoring (Down from 2.5 and still amazing!) with approximately 45/55 (PG/VG) I admit it was a bit of a dirty and quick mix - I was getting tired of chocolate. Then I mixed in what I would say was 1/8th of tea spoon (After the spill) into the vial, added about 5-6mL of PG. After it didn't seem to have any effect I upped what was in the vial once more and then again until I am pretty sure I'm at about 1/3 of a teaspoon of Malic Acid in approximately 5mL PG.

I of course heated the vial and made sure the crystals dissolved properly. I continued to add step by step about .05cc at a time. I think my Raspberry is now at .25cc of Malic Acid. Still no real sour twang to it, if anything just a slight mute in the flavor. Is this because I added it after I mixed and (I boil water and put my bottles in to steep them) steeped it?

Any tips or tricks here would be greatly appreciated! The only real effect so far is a slight muting of the Raspberry flavoring.

I was mainly looking to add something of a sour warheads type sour to my vapor. I wonder if Raspberry is just too strong of a flavor, I may have to bring it down to .75 or 1% to see a real effect from the malic acid. Any suggestions as the the % that may be best? (Percentage of Malic Acid that is)
