I spoke to one kiosk employee who felt horrible hocking that junk so cheap. He even used a leo outside of work, but he said it was good pay and free juice so what can ya say to that?
also they were selling bottles of lorrans for $20 claiming that you used it to make your own which turned into alot...but mentioned nothing further about nic, pg/or vg. (a bottle of lorrans goes for about $1.50 normally)

So, I went to the local mall, expecting to find moderately overpriced E-liquid. I just wanted to try a few of the flavors, so I asked how much the guy at the kiosk was selling them for. Apparently he was trying to sell 10ml for $29.99 and 15ml for $49.99. What a rip off!

Considering 1 drop of the magic liquid they sell is the equivalent of a pack of analogs I'd say that's a bargain!

LOL. That reminds me of a time long ago that we stopped at a roadside vegetable stand to pick up some corn on the cob for dinner. We had decided a half dozen would be fine. However the guy's wife came back with a dozen. As we drove off he asked why she bought so many. Her answer, "They wanted a $1 for 6 but a dozen was only $3!". Obviously not a math whiz.

No that would be more like 33 drops but the price it slightly less then analogs still. Carton price here is $60+ or 29.99 for a 10ml which is about 10 packs... its higher then any other place but the price is still a bargain over analogs.

Just for curiosity's sake, how many flavors did he offer? Usually, I see a tobacco, light tobacco, and menthol at the kiosks. If you'd like to be enterprising, work on DIY and create some killer flavors. Take them to the kiosk and let him sell them on consignment... he gives you shelf space, and you give him a cut of each sale. Or, work a kick-back deal, where he passes out your cards and you give him a few bucks on every unit you sell. The clerk probably doesn't get commission on unit sales - hell, he's just happy to be vaping indoors and getting paid to vape. He'd probably love a few hundred extra in his pocket each week.

Run him some samples to demo for the customers, hand him a stack of cards, and $1 for every 15ml he sells for you. The customer is happy, in that they get more quantity at a lower price. And since your cost for making the juice is pennies, you'd be raking in the dough.

Go get 'em, entrepreneurs!

YMMV :D. I was smoking 1.5 PAD, I'm vaping ~3mL a day; so 10mL ~= 5 packs for me.
You can get 10mL online for $5 (or less) or, like me, make 10mL for ~$1.
For convenience sake, if I ran out of juice, I'd pay $30 at the mall for 10mL; but, that would be the only time I bought from them. So far (knock on wood), I've managed to keep stocked up and haven't come close to running out of juice.

Not to defend the Mall vendors .. and these type threads seem to pop up fairly regularly .. however, Mall rent is high, paying people is high, insurance is high .. etc .. one of the reasons the mail order deal is a deal .. there is little to no overhead and most of these mail order vendors work out of home ..

I've owned a brick and mortar retail shop for over 20 years .. do I charge more for what I sell than an on-line guy .. ?? Of course, I have to .. otherwise, I could not pay my own bills ..

Hi prometheus - I am guessing you have never shopped at one of those Kiosks. One of their favorite lines is that 1 e cig cart/ carto is equivalent to 1.5 - 2 pack of cigs or with the liquids that 2-3 drops in a cart will last all day. The guy that sold me my kit said the 15 ml bottle he threw in to the deal would last a couple of months.

Agree with your points but I would bet you don't charge 300% more that the online shops. If that kind of markup is needed to keep their kiosk going they should be looking for a new business 'cause theirs will not last long.

Your correct it could vary and I myself smoke 2ml a day even though I was a PAD smoker. I just use the 1ml/pack rate to indicate the NIC intake. Meaning if your a pack a day smoker and they were full flavor then you got about 16-20mgs of nic a day in you and if you buy 18mg liquid then 1ml=1pack of smokes. That does not mean you don't want to smoke more lol. I myself now smoke 11mg just so I can smoke 2ml a day but keep my nic intake the same as a PAD

Yes I have but I don't believe everything I hear ;)

So 2-3 drops is a pack huh? Lets find out shall we. Most sites I have found claim 16-20 drops=1ml so... a pack has 16-20mgs of nic in it. If 3 drops=1pack and 1pack=16mg then 1 drop=5.3mgs. The bottles nic solution would be at 5.3mg/drop or 84.8mg strength which is a toxic level and would be very dangerous to smoke...

I don't think so... Of course if there strength was that high then maybe it would be worth using there fluids as bases for DIY lol

I'm fortunate in that my building has been paid off for 10 years .. but I still have property taxes, insurance and maintenance to pay for .. I try to be fair in pricing ..

You'd be surprized at what even kiosk space costs at a Mall location with good traffic .. in the past, I've rented space for a kiosk during the Holiday season and paid $12,000 for 3 months .. October, November and December .. factor in the cost of the kiosk itself as well as help and insurance .. and it's still a crap shoot ..

LOL I just had an idea. Somebody over in the "coming up on 2 year" thread mentioned turning all their old 901s into christmas tree ornaments. Don't the e-cigs from the mall kiosks look just like 901s? Wouldn't it be ironic if somebody opened a booth right next to the rip off kiosk and sold their "christmas ornament" e-cigs as junk turned into something usable again? Wonder what that would do to their business.....

$12,000 for 3 months

At those rates I would never try selling e-cigs at a mall! Heck I wouldn't pay that to sell anything. At least not in my area. I couldn't make that back from our mall traffic in 6 months let alone 3! Thats 200 $60 starter kits! No wonder my mall charges $200 for that WhiteSmoke junk kit.

Yep .. that's my point .. in most cases, the price you pay for the goods is directly related to the cost of selling .. a mall kiosk tends to guarantee a good customer traffic flow .. and the more flow, the more expensive the rent ..
