If you really want that gem there and have a Michael's or other craft store near you you can probably get little glass gems for cheap there. I think the opening is somewhere around 6mm (I'm sure they have a way to measure it at the craft store). Probably want a cabochon style and some glue (Zap-A-Gap is a great multi-use glue for plastic/metal/glass).

Just wait. They're in production (as Wader, Mark, and the rest of the great V4L crew has told us). They just haven't been up to standard yet.
