I have a manual because they don't make mine in an automatic.

I've tried both- my Mom has a KR808 with automatic and manual batteries.

Trying the same PV I find you get a better vape with a manual because you control the inhale, not the sensor. You also need to be careful filling an automatic so as not to get juice in the battery. My Mom has gone through about 3 auto batteries and one manual battery. But she's terrible at refilling, so you can't really go by her. I'd try to be careful and remove the carto to refill.

I'm thinking about trying the Echo and that's automatic so I guess I'll see how it goes.

All manuals. I researched here for 2 weeks before I bought my first ecig and I find the arguments for manual to be good.

Manuals are less likely to be damaged or killed by juice leaks. Dripping w/ drip tip on atomizer is not recommended on autos, I actually think self-filled cartomizers pose as great or greater a risk for leaking a bit of juice on the end of the battery. Autos always have a hole there and always have a necessary drag sensor right behind that hole. Some manuals like 510 are totally sealed metal on the end and some have a hole but at least are not dependent on a drag sensor.

Autos can sometimes be triggered by wind or vibration. That wastes battery charge and worst case may burn you in your pocket etc.

I think manuals are less work and give more control of your hit. No wasted sucking. You can press the button in 1-1.5 seconds before the start of your drag then when you start dragging there is already vapor. You can let up on the button a bit before the end of your drag since vapor is already made. Autos may need a primer puff to warm the atomizer then the real drag.

Downside of manuals - you can't vape with it scissors style between your fingers. Even if you could hold it just with your mouth you would need to press the button to vape.

Manuel's.

Unless you are stuck on the idea of using an e-cig like a .... and expect to have it dangling from your mouth I don't see a reason to go with auto batteries. You can get auto's for e-cig's that are way to large to dangle without hurting your teeth. Don't see a point to that. The manual batteries are less complicated and less prone to the risk other's have already mentioned of damage if juice gets into the battery and auto sensor. Seems to me that there are way too many things that could trigger auto batteries, especially at this time of year: house fans, high winds, open car windows etc.

As a noob I went with manual batteries and have no regrets.

Autos and I don't think I will ever go back to manuals. I'm using the new Echo 1300 and it is an awesome battery. I started with autos 18 months ago and quickly changed to manuals because of all the problems mentioned with the old autos. The difference is with the new generation autos, you don't need a primer puff, they respond immediately to the lightest or hardest draw, they don't prematurely ignite from wind or vibrations. If you use the new cartos with them you don't have leaking problems. There is much more danger of turning on a manual battery accidental than an auto. I know because I've had more than one turn on and start heating up my leg. An auto is much more relaxing and enjoyable to vape also it is handy when you need both hands for a few minutes like typing, driving or mowing the lawn. How many of you that chose manual have owned one of the new autos like the Maxxfusion, Volt or Echo? There are lots of seasoned veterans switching back to autos.

Here are a couple of reviews where people thought the way most of you do before they tried one.
