I assume most of you folks on here who use the KR808s, are using the auto batteries? After my research, it would seem like there are some advantages with maunal batteries and lots of people who seem to prefer them with other PV models. I see that Drew does not have these currently available on his site, yet there’s noone on this forum begging for them so I assume there’s no great demand? I did read that Drew is expecting to offer manual batteries very soon. My question for you all would be, what’s your take on the whole auto/manual thing? Is there an advantage of auto over manual other than not having to press a button. It would seem that being able to apply a little to atty before you tske a drag would give one a bit warmer more potent hit. Is this not the case?

Drew: If I decide that manual is ultimately what I want to use, is there an estimate on when you may have them?

Thanks,
Brian

Hey Brian,
The manual batteries i have gotten appear to be sealed. If you refill cartomizers or use any 901 parts you could end up leaking juice into the battery. So that gives me peace at mind that they are less likely to be ruined by a stuck switch. Other than that i think they last about the same amout of time, if not a little longer. With cartomizers i dont really desire automatic batteries as much since they dont come with whistle tips and i cant dangle my pv from my mouth. (lol i do have a cartomizer that i converted to a whistle tip, threw on a cartomizer rubber cap, but i am too afraid that it will leak in the batteries, ill have to try)

Haven't actually touched them yet, and sorta ordered them on a blind...I hate ordering the newest models, because there is almost always a problem...Some would argue about who's idea this actually was but I have been talking to Kanger for six months about PCCs, manual batteries, bigger carts, bigger flavor selection, and higher mah on their batteries...I am personally not so entusiastic about manual batts or longer batts...The Kr808 is somewhat flawed allready with there cartomizers...There is the possibility of burning cart material if they are abused or not given time to wick properly...Many people have suggested rotation of carts to eliminate this or going back to the original cut off times on the original batteries...I personally dont see much difference with taking 3 hits in a row or holding down the manual button, as far as causing a cart to burn...This is why they incorporated a cut off in the manual batteries...Another thing to keep in mind is that there are patents on the Integrated Atomizer, Pcc, and Manual batteries that many Chinese companies have ignored...Green World Tech owns 2 of these patents and is currently persuing legal action in China for these patent infringements and will certainly win...It is just a matter of time until you see at least 2 large popular companies revamp there inventory of products that they produce...SHould have them in a couple days or so, but Im not sure Im sold on them yet as I have read about a couple problems...I wont endorse them until Im sure they are all good...

I used the kr808s for exclusively for a long time before switching to a manual batt 510. The 510 burns hot, so I release the button about one second before I stop drawing on it to cool it down and get a little more liquid in the well for the next draw.

I really can't see any reason I'd want a manual batt on a kr808 though. Never had any problems with stuck switches or anything with that model, though some people may try 'em and love 'em.
