Map Help

So I had my hubby cut a new ce2 for me. All was good. The bottom delrin cap actually removes too easy from the tank but that made pulling the ce2 out very easy. However, I cannot get the delrin cap off the base of the ce 2. You cannot push it down because the center of the ce connector comes out, you can't pull it out the other way. I even had the man with the strong bear hands try, he suggested channel locks!
Any ideas, that sucker is not budging!

I just take the bottom cap off, clip the wires, take off the heating element and wicks from the black boot up and push the center post out the bottom. Then I sit the cap with the remainder of the C2 on a 1/2 in. socket and push the rest out with a phillips screwdriver. Only takes a couple of mins.

Only problem is that I don't know if this is dead or not. Well, I suppose I am just gonna have to make this one the sacrificial lamb! LOL!
Thanks, I'll give the socket thing a try but dang if it don't feel like it is glued in there.

Tune in @ around 11 minutes (let it buffer), follow Bruce's exact steps and you'll have it much easier. All you need is a 510 battery and a pair of pliers. So easy... good luck

BTW: As Robert mentioned, there is no need to take the bottom grommet off.

That thing is just stuck, I'll take it in the shop tomorrow where I have more tools and a way to clamp it.
Isaac, what do you mean by grommet? The delrin bottom comes off super easy, I can't get the bottom of the ce2 out of the delrin cap. there is nothing left but the housing.

I gave the thing the benefit of the doubt of still being okay, nope, dead and my frustration led me to waste a bunch of my favorite juice. That part was my fault, I misplaced my patience at that point.

I'll work on it tomorrow and if I cant get it out, I'll send it to Bruce.

I had a second map but it was at 2.8 ohms, I wanted to replace the ce with the higher one but this didn't want to budge either, I tried the battery and pliers and just stopped. Figure I'll just vape it at 3.7V for now.

You take the carto out with a 510 battery Amy. Tell your husband to place a his left thumb on the bottom delrin cap (grommet), and to wiggle the battery while pulling (somewhat hard) with his right. The carto will eventually get out. I have found that the first time is the hardest.

Once the carto is out use a pair of pliers to unscrew the carto from the battery.

Yes please Bruce, a video that is just for changing out the carts would be great and be sure to include some 'if this doesn't work' try this pointers.
I have a brand new 5V device and I am just dying to use it at 5 volts.

I like the whole map concept, this little snag frustrated me a bit. I will go looking for my patience today, it was misplaced last night, and hopefully this is just a fluke. When all is working right, they are awesome little gadgets.

Yeh I know these things seem to be impossible to get out the first time. What you can also try is the same battery-wiggle-pull method, but additionally using a small type long tool (I use a dental tool upside down) to push from the top delrin cap on the top of the carto, that will give you a some extra force. Like I've said, once it's out once it seems to be a lot a lot easier.

Got IT! I sure hope the ce2's last a while in between changes. So all that was left was the bottom housing of the ce. I placed the bottom delrin cap on a decent size nut and used a large phillips head to shove it all the way through.

Getting the new one one was interesting. It did take a bit of force, there is no wiggle. I held the sides of the tank and just pushed down hard on the battery. Got it all but a few mm's in then it took a bit of doing but all is good. Thankfully I am not a juice switcher! I just don't see removing it to clean and re-use, but hopefully next time around won't prove to be as difficult.

So I am happily vaping on my brand new mod and my map. I really do like it, even if I did have a few choice words for it during the replacement process!

I finally got the five volt mod too. A five volt chuck and I don't need the extension on this one! Now that I went through the learning curve on the removal....this one was truly just stuck, but I don't think I'll have the same troubles anymore, I totally agree Robert. Everyone said don't do six, do five and now that I have, I really am enjoying the map tank more.

I changed one out on the job during lunch today, took less than 5 min. I had my syringe with me so I sucked the juice out and removed the C2, on the BSB I can just pry gently with my 5 way and it just pops out, put the new one in returned the juice to the tank and back to vapeing!

@ AmyB66, I know I've read to not do 6v but I'm going to try it with a 3.2 ohm as soon as I get the CR123a's for the BSB. Just gotta do it.......

You just gotta be careful, short drags and short button hits, lots of tipping the map back and forth. That's the one reason I had Jeff at Thagbuilt make me a 5volt chuck. The difference is just small enough, don't notice it too much with a cartomizer but I notice it a lot with the map. The 2.8ohms I only like at 3.7, anything higher voltage is ick.

I've come to the conculsion that ce2s no matter what they are on, maps clearos etc, are different, more like an atty with an attached wick where as the old cartomizers are different (I think those heat from the bottom) so with anything using ce2's under 3.2 ohms doesn't work at high volt anything, 5 or 6.

I really like my chucks, did a video with the new one and the map tank. Now that I have the five volt, I like the map tank a lot more than I did before. I like it for convenience.
