Last I checked, the bill in Washington is stalled in committee, though the governor has stated he is on board with signing it should it make it to his desk. We're an odd state. On the west side of the Cascades is the more liberal, Democratic-leaning populace; east of the Cascades is the more conservative Republican-leaning populace. It's rather obvious of that difference when you cross over the mountains. We're a Blue state simply because the majority of the population resides in that western part of the state.

Just as the map shows, vaping taxes are just like a bad virus, highly contagious it'll spread uncontrollably state by state growing worse over time. Just a few years ago that same map was devoid of any color, a couple of years from now it'll be solid red. Best historical example of what to expect is to look at the taxation of cigarettes, another "tobacco product". Started out low but increased year after year until the -vast majority- of cost was....taxes, direct and indirect. I strive to enjoy what freedom we currently have because I have little doubt it's fragile and fleeting.

I would be good to have a thread that combines info about the various state level efforts to tax ecigs. In the mean time I think it's hard to tax ecigs and that's why there haven't been more states with taxes in place. I bet that sufficiently harsh controls to allow for effective taxation would cost more money than the tax would collect and piss off a LOT of people. Plus it encourages DIY, which I support.

I make my own DIY juice. I don't buy ready made juice from any vendors at all (to include local B&Ms).

So, how about if I was to order my unflavored PG with nicotine on the internet from a state that still does not have e-cig tax .... I guess I would be ok for the time being?

Once all states start taxing e-liquids that contain nicotine, I guess we will just start ordering it from China ... Kind of like internet ordering tax-free cigarettes from some of the various East European countries like the Ukraine.

Might be reasonably accurate to say this map designates the states most desperate for revenues?

These Dbags would like to tax the air we breath.

Oh, Wait a minute, they have a plan to do that too.

Is taxing vaping and/or vaping products really that much different then "taxing the air we breath?"
