MAP tank help

Hey ECF,

The brand new MAP tank I received leaks for the bottom. I contacted the vendor but was told that it was not possible to leak from the bottom because MAP tanks are sealed at the bottom. I explained that I used a syring to fill and was careful.

I'm a total newb and not sure how to troubleshoot. Has anyone had any similar issues?

Map tanks are technically not sealed at the bottom. The threads at the bottom are the CE2 which will slide out of the black delrin. If you connect the tank to an old battery and very gently wiggle and pull the CE2 out you can examine the delrin and ensure there are no mistakes made when it was made, then you can reinstall the CE2 and ensure that it seats properly.

Also make sure the tank is empty if you do this.

When you say it leaks from the bottom is it leaking around the edge or through the center connection?

How are you filling the tank? Syringe?

Do not try and fill through the center hole in the top as that is the air tube and runs straight through. Overfilling will also cause a leak through the tube.

It appears to be leaking from the center connector. But I'll double check the delrin using Mr.P's technique.
I did use a syringe, and was careful to find the fill hole on the side. I filled it about half way.

Map tanks will leak through the center if they are filled past the ceramic cup or laid on their side. Juice will slowly work through the wick into the cup and run down the air tube.

Looks like the juice is leaking from the seal between the CE2 and the delrin on the bottom. I'll try to pull the CE2 out and replace or reset. thanks again everyone.
