Thats exactly the way to describe mine..and it didnt take long. First fill up (barely over half way) turned dark the first day. I got my tank the first part of last week, so I am going to assume that it has a fairly new ce2.

I came in here to ask if anyone else had seen this, and here it is already discussed. Excellent!

Yeah, first fillup, using a completely clear juice, and it's now more whiskey colored. It tastes fine, and I'm not going to worry overmuch about it, but was wondering if it was unique to mine, or more general.

Oh, and just an FYI - kind of a mod mod....

I wanted the metal tip longer on my tank. The one that came with it was close to the element and got warm when I vaped - not the feeling I'm looking for with watermelon juice, and I prefer a cooler vapor in general. I cut one of the XL cartos I have with a pipe cutter, which gave me that little turned-in lip on the sleeve. Turns out that if you position that little turned-in lip exactly the right height, it seals against the silcone cup ring and stops leaks completely. Mine dribbled a bit when I left it sitting on its side. When I got the new mouthpiece in there, pressing against the silicone ring, it no longer leaks. I still get the amazing flavor, vapor and wicking that the MAP offers, just without the dribble.

If there are wires inside the tank that are covered with plastic, does that plastic contain any lead or mercury? Are they sourced from China? We all know how China gets rid of it's unwanted lead and mercury.

They are the main,if not only, manufacturer of the CE2 cartos. I doubt they would do something guaranteed to kill all their sales.

edit : In the beginning they tried to cut a lot of corners with materials and assembly procedures, but a lot of members worked with them to make a better product. I am sure they still cut corners where they can, but that is just good business.

I hear ya:)

When I read the posts about the juice getting dark really fast and that apparently both wires run through the juice it made think that possibly something is being imparted into the juice. Or perhaps the current running through the wires is cooking the juice or changing something about it's makeup. Don't know but it is curious.

I mentioned it earlier. :)

A dry burn is where you put the carto on a batty and trigger in appx 5 second burst until the coils glow red, this will get the remaining gunk off of the coils after you rinse with hot water.

Not sure why but I have it in my mind that heating up a dry element will burn it out. I haven't done a dry burn on anything yet. Maybe because in my mind I know what happens to a heating element in a hot water heater if the element is activated while it's not covered with water. :)

But we are not pumping 25 amps through this element. The burnt taste comes from the build up of solid particulates that are suspended in the fluid. ( gunk ) The wick is not flammable and making the coil glow in appx 5 second burst is not going to damage it. Will this eventually pop this element? Absolutely! However, if you don't get the gunk off of the coil, you are not going to use this for very long anyways. ;)
