I've just started using cartos and I'm a little confused about some things. I've been using:
New Varying Resistance Dual Coil 510+801 Colossal Cartomizers &
Low Resistance 510 Dual Coil Jumbo Blank Cartomizers
They both come in either 1.5 or 2.0.
How do I determine which ohm is good for which device?
I have a GLV Supermini-3.7 volt, a GLV 2- 5 volt and I have a Precise P-16 3.7 volt on the way. Is it just a matter of taste or can any of these work with any of these mods? I'm pretty much asking which carto for which mod gives optimum performance.

Not sure if this will help but I found it interesting..

Ohm's Law / Watt's Law Calculator

Cool calculator! I have been wondering about this same thing. I am looking for the most vapor and flavor. I also would like to extend the life of my cartos as much as possible. I may be wrong, but this looks like you can use this to find the right balance in Volts and oHms to acquire the correct level of power required to produce the optimal amount of vapor without overpowering the cartos and burning them up.

Anyone know what that level would be. Maybe a target range at first then customize to the individual taste.

I am currently using the "Dual Coil" cartos from hoosierecigsupply.com at 6-7.4 volts on all three of my mods. A Mako..an Apex Alpha..and a Prodigy V1

So....According to the calculator..6.4 volts / 1.5 resistance...gives me 27.3 watts

Loads of vapor and throat hit. Go figure...and I have NEVER been a carto guy till these "Duals" came out !

The safe range is somewhere between 4 and 7 Watts. Some people like it hotter, closer to 8 Watts, but that's really getting close to the "burning" range. I like 5-6W for my everyday vaping.

Well, those dual-coil cartos are a bit tricky as they consist of two 3.2Ω coils, so even though the resistance of your cartos is 1.6Ω, you're still only vaping two 3.2Ω coils on whatever voltage you're using... It's more like vaping two 3.2Ω cartos at the same time...

So is that less stress on the battery and carto? And more vapor? My wife is using the 2ohm on a 650 Ego Batt and I'm running the 1.5 on my Supermini 3.7. I figure running the 1.5 on my 5 volt as well. I think if she sticks with the 2 ohm on her 3.7 Precise it'll be a little cooler. Is this right? Am I making sense?

Whatever works... With those cartos, all bets are off. They draw the amps like an LR atty, but they vape more like standards, albeit with more vapor. Just be careful--they do burn. I (and others) managed to burn several on 3.2 and 3.7v, (1.5Ω and 2.5Ω). Also, be careful with the clear ones on higher voltages; the plastic melts when they get too hot.

You read my mind!! The only thing I know for sure is that the 1.5 to 2.0 dual coil smoke tech cartos are revolutionary for me vaping at 3.7v. On my 5v GLV2s they burn the juice. I didn't like cartos, only dripped until I tried the dual coil cartos at 3.7v. But I have no idea what ones will work for my 5v GLV2s or when vaping at 6v on an Omega. Using a 3.7v 18650 batt on the Omega with these cartos produce vaping nirvana as does the GLV Supermini but going higher voltage wrecks the carto and burns the juice - nasty! I'm an Ohm Tard. If anyone knows the answer I would be forever grateful :)

My plans are to try the 2.0 with the 5 volt

I have been running both the clear and the black ones at 6-7 volts with absolutely no issues. No burning and no burnt juice...great flavor....super vapor production and the TH I must have. I have disassembled 3...no signs of burning...cleaned and they still perform VERY well.

Of coarse I dont mash the button for too long either...maybe 2 seconds at the most...

For what it's worth I ordered the dual coil smoke techs 1.5 (gotvapes) two weeks ago and am still vaping the first one of 5 on a v3 @ 6v - they do go thru the juice but have never gotten a burnt taste - tried on my Riva and KR8 batt (w/adapter) and it was good but just too much work (better than sucking on a pencil though) - at 6v this thing really kicks, the carto does all the work and taste and vapor production is really good - although these are rated at 1.5, the fact that each coil is 3ohm+ has to be why they perform so well at 6v - my other cartos are single coil 3ohm Boges and these also kick .... - got a box of 3.5ohm clearos (fluxos) for the v3 and haven't gotten around to trying them yet - anyway..... fill 'em up and enjoy @ 5 & 6 volts!!
