Material To Extend Battery Conductivity?

I'm trying to use an Ultrafire 16340 3.6v Li-ion battery with my Sparkplug 2 ecig, but it' not making contact. Can I use aluminum foil between the battery connectors to make contact?

Use a small earth magnet. Foil may touch the side of the case = a short

will they do the job?

EDIT: I see in the description of these magnets the following:

"- Electrically conductive (making them suitable to extend recessed batteries)"

Working great so far!! Does it matter which side of the battery the magnets make contact with? I have them making contact with the bottom (or negative side).

I use 'em on the negative side as well.

Sounds odd. I bought an SP2 (junk BTW), it comes with unprotected cells. When I popped my white, protected TF 16340s they are too long and the threads no longer seat all the way. I had to use it with threads showing.
