The way I see it ,the man had a question. It was answered. We can either be helpful and answer the question knowing we all make mistakes or we can discourage those making said mistakes from seeking a solution. When we do the latter, what is really scary is someone, registered supplier or just somebody that sells some juice to their friends decides to just wing it so they don't have to deal with the public criticism some here choose to dispense. What happens then?

Feel free to judge how you choose.

As most posters,I am here to help. Those not willing to help ,only posting to point out a perceived shortcoming ,contribute nothing to the thread.

Thank you all for your help, support, critique and Dead and Wizard your criticism. Dead I wish I was like you, but I'm not... I AM falible. I DO on occasion make mistakes. My flavorings are in 120ml bottles and I mix my 100ml batch in a 120ml bottle. THIS time I deviated and did not put the flavoring away before I pour the nic from the graduated cylinder (the last ingredient). I @#$%'d up and I realized it right away.

I am pretty sure I won't do that again. (See, I can learn :))

I wish I could calculate split % dilutions in my head to get the final % I'm looking for. I think it's great that people just whip these out in their head. What I do know is that every single time I input in the calculater 100mg nic, desired 12mg on a 100ml batch needs 12 ml nic.... every single time. I also know that if I put 1 1/2 x nic in I'm at 18mg or 24mg if I double it, both of which I vape on occasion.

To say I am not 'smart' enough, shouldn't be 'allowed' to DIY does not help anyone.

this conversation,,,,,kinda makes a fella afraid to ask any body ,any thing on here,,,,,,,what a shame.

ECF has so many genuinely helpful people and then there are those that just have a desire to criticize.

The harm in this is that it does make some (maybe Mudhill, maybe someone else in need) hesitate to ask a question, tough or simple, for fear of ridicule.... And that is a shame.

The OP's question has been answered.
It has been duly noted that anyone who needs help should ask for it and not be afraid to do so.

Mistakes happen. Plain and simple.
I think the major problem the one dude had with the OP was that he was a vendor and was having trouble with the math.

This thread has no reason to be open anymore and I request that it be closed.

Hoosier, glassmanoak, Levitas, BakuPeg, a few others and I all frequent the DIY section regularly and have a good bit of experience when it comes to mixing. I believe I speak for all of us when I say; do not be afraid to ask questions. If you have any we will gladly help you in any way we can. :)

I messed up !!! I was mixing a batch of juice and I always add the nic last. Well I wasn't paying attention and I poured the nic into my Pineapple flavoring

So there was 105ml of pineapple and I poured in 12ml of 100mg nic. I need to know how many mg of nic is in a ml of the flavoring.

I make a 100ml batch and I use the 12ml of nic to get 12mg juice and I use 8ml of the pineapple. How much do I cut the ml's of nic by?

Your help would be appreciated .... Thanks

Hey Wharf Rat, did u start Chrissie celebrations early!! LOL

I'm going to apologize here to Wharf Rat for coming off a little harsh.

Although I do agree that everyone who asks for help should receive it, I also believe that somebody doesn't know how to operate poisons probably shouldn't be using them and I don't think the importance of this issue can be overstated; somebody's gonna get hurt or killed and/or this stuff is gonna end up regulated and I really don't want to see either of those scenarios become reality.

Drop for drop nicotine is more toxic than cyanide, arsenic, strychnine or rattlesnake venom and my personal opinion is that in addition to assistance, anybody mishandling it (or who is unaware of how to handle it) is in pretty desperate need of a wakeup call.

So - I apologize to WR for being a little harsh but my opinion has not changed; I will, however, refrain from expressing it.

edit: I'm also going to explain *how* the nic content is calculated as in addition to slapping someone upside the head I should have provided the correct answer and explained how to arrive at it.

You added 12ml of 100mg/ml nic so there is a total of 1200 mg of nicotine in the batch because 12 * 100 = 1200.

You added 12ml of nic base to 105ml of flavoring, so total volume is 117ml; you have 1200mg of nicotine in 117ml of carrier liquid.

1200mg of nicotine divided by 117ml of carrier liquid gives a final nicotine strength of 10.256mg/ml.

:)

Congrats on 6 months stinky FREE Mudhill.

Thanks Wizard and I understand your opinion . I know this is serious stuff and the first time around I purchased 60mg nic out of respect for what nicotine is. I also had the math correct but with the seriousness of this product I wanted to make sure my math was correct.

And I think (and hope) my post just caught Dead on the wrong day.

I'm glad too Glasssman.

Yeah but you had more words Gimmie... so there's that :)

And I'm the other Harbaugh fan !!!

Seriously thanks again to both of you.

So Wharf Rat and gimmieshelter31 are both Harbaugh fans on opposite sides of the ball. Good to see you guys have a real rooting interest in the Super Bowl...unlike the rest of us. Good luck to both of you!
