You will notice that his article is in response to an op ed from the USA Today editorial board that also appeared today called, "Our opinion on public health: E-cigarettes pose risks" Look that one up and then let's all go and comment on both of them.
Notice the ridiculousness of the reference to China? The mention of a refusal for testing? Wrapping the statements of a few into the sentiment of the entire e-cig community?
All of these are points to take exception to.
And I responded
3h ago To the editor,
This article reads like the same unscientific tripe that most other mass media outlets have been regurgitating to the American Public for the past few months now. Goes to show that the media in this country has no brains of their own and will blindly follow our government, even if they are wrong.
First off, your comment (slap in the face) regarding China. I'd love to see China tell the US to take a hike and embargo our butts. So where is little Johnny gonna get his cloths for school? Walmart? Since 99% of this facade of an "economy" we have in this country is a sham and depends on China, the US would dry up and die within a week. So I wouldn't be so fast to denouce China like this article so blatently did.
And second, this so-called "scientific" report on the e-cig from the FDA is a joke. Done on the two companies suing them, they have every reason to find something "bad" and create a fear mongoring environment.
Maybe the key question the media should be asking the FDA is why did they not test the electronic cigarette against a real cigarette the FDA now controls? Probably because it would only drive home the point that electronic cigarette users have been saying all along. That the e-cig is far safer.
Think the government and big tobacco and big pharma want any of that to come to light? If you believe they do, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you real cheap.
No wonder this country is being driven into the crapper. Look who's running it!
