"Max Tank" sub series atomizer short error

Apologies if this isn't the right thread, I'm totally new here.
My brand new Vapouriz max tank arrived today, but I haven't been able to use it as I keep getting either "Atomizer short" or "Atomizer open" errors. The coil is definitely compatible as it arrived already in the tank. I have tried adjusting the contacts, to no avail, and I can't think of anything else to try.
I'm really hoping this can be fixed; it's the first decent (in theory) vape I've owned and I've been waiting for it a while, I'd love to be able to use it rather than just get a refund (if indeed I manage to do that).

Sounds like you need a new tank, an atomizer short isn't down to the mod.
However I had same problem with my coolfire iv, it kept popping up with "shorted"...
I cleaned the 510 pin, an replaced my coil an it's been fine since

Try a new coil if one came spare.
