Hey all

Quick question. I have a bottle of White Label Co liquid which is Max VG. I am using a Atlantis V2 tank with .5 coil. Ive been reading that max vg may cause trouble in terms of wicking and some people mention poking a hole in the cotton. Is this necessary and if so, do I poke a hole in the slits around the coil, is that what they mean by the cotton?

Does this shorten the life of the coil?

Thanks

The cotton poking they are talking about is in the wicking holes on the sides of the coil. You don't want to use too big a poker and don't poke too deep or you may damage the coil itself. The V2 was an upgrade designed to make it easier/better to use high VG fluid. I switched to RBA's just before the sub-tank craze came about and never really had a desire to try any of them. I have a lot of friends, though, that use the Atlantis V2 with high VG juice and have no problems. I'd say give it a shot before you go poking at your $5 coil with anything sharp and pointy. If you have any issues, there are links in other forums to instructions on the cotton poking thing. Post a few more times and get rid of the newbie status and you can access the rest of the site more freely.

My Atlantis V2 works like a charm. The highest VG I normally use on it is 80VG and I have no wicking problems (I didn't have wicking problems on the V1 either). I do have some juice that is 90VG, although I do believe the manufacturer did mix in some distilled water, as it is not very thick at all.
