That is a pretty long garter snake! He looks like a pretty decoration@Seleya and @wvloony will appreciate this. Went outside with the dogs so they could go potty, and I saw this on the conifer next to my front steps.

At first I was like..."damn that's a long snake". After I snapped the pics, I blew some clouds onto him to shoo him away. He slithered back into the center towards the trunk and saw a tail......while the tail on the top didn't move. So that means there were two snakes nestled on the top.
I had to resist the urge to either go grab the 12 gauge or the chainsaw.
The way it was curled towards the top, I thought it was just one. Didn't realized until it started slithering away that it was two snakes. I think it is time to cut down those trees/bushes and remove all forms of vegetation near the house.I said the same thing john, a pair of harmless garter snakes

Not my sheriff, i know him personally. And not in an offender/law officer way. He would probably tell me to take it down though if he got to many calls about itDo you think your sheriff would come by and beat the stuffing out of it?
That first picture is actually two snakes. The top portion going somewhat horizontally is the second snake. Only his tail end is sticking out while his upper half is inside the tree. The bottom snake has his top portion sticking out while his tail is not visible inside the tree. That is a pretty long garter snake! He looks like a pretty decoration![]()
That's nuts. It totally looks like one snake! They were perfectly lined up, lol. That first picture is actually two snakes. The top portion going somewhat horizontally is the second snake. I'm just glad that it is getting colder so they will be disappearing soon. I'm sure that they are hanging out there to catch what little sun is out (partly cloudy day with lots of clouds and a little sun).
I heard the price of fame is pretty high. Not at all.........grrrrrrr

You might want to look into getting an extension tube. They are much cheaper than getting a dedicated macro lens. You attach your existing lens into the extension tube and then attach the extension tube to your camera (so the tube is in between your camera and the lens) and it basically turns your lens into a macro lens by reducing your lens minimum focusing distance. I had purchased a 3 tube set (comes with 3 different sizes) for less than $150 (Amazon sells some for under $50). The larger the tube, the greater the macro effect. The more expensive set, like the one I purchased, contains the circuitry that allows your camera to still have autoexposure and autofocusing when using it.I caught this one playing around in all the leaves in his tank last night.

I'm considering buying a macro filter to try out to take better pictures of him. He's so tiny and my kit lens doesn't work as well as I'd like to take photos of him. Nice macro lenses are too expensive, though.![]()
I was looking at a set like this. Just filters that screw on to the end. It's like $13 for a set of 4 that includes +1, +2, +4 and +10You might want to look into getting an extension tube. My Hubby is a great multi tasker! I just drive him crazy with my over worrying....lolLOL! That sounds like my hubby. He can only do one thing at a time and I definitely tend to distract him.![]()
Yay!! Pink!Guess who has a pink Sigelei Fuchai 213w on the way? THIS GIRL!!! I got tired of waiting for my $$$ to go into paypal so I borrowed it from my account and will just pay myself back when I get my survey money. If I ordered it within the next 10 hours it is supposed to be here by Monday (coming from California from an Ebay company who ships stuff every hour) so I panicked, lol. It's going to be hard enough waiting through the weekend as it is. Didn't want to have to wait until Tuesday!!![]()
Noooo!!! I'm so glad you didn't do any damage to yourself, ya ninja!I did...accidentally locked myself out of the condo
I agree. Its been such an amazing mod, and its hard to believe that the negative contact piece was done like that.I know it! I have been trying to figure something out for a long time now but I just can't think of something that would make it stronger. The metal they used should not have been so easy to bend.
