I have a great video on my FB of some guy messing back with his "IRS" scammer
I have my enrolled agent license with the IRS, replete with my own EFIN so it would be difficult for them to scam me pretending to be the IRS.

I got a new one today. Got a recorded call saying that if I do not contact them to deal with back taxes, they are going to sue me, garnish my wages and attach my bank accounts. The funny thing is they called my Google voice number, and they never identified themselves, or gave a call back number, and I also know that neither the IRS nor the state tax authorities will ever call you. If they want to contact you they always send a letter.
I really do think things are ramping up with cybercrime and telemarketing. It all just seems so much more aggressive lately than it has in the past, and way more frequent. I got a news alert the other day saying someone is trying to take down the internet and suspicions were that it's--wait for it--the Chinese. !!! Why on earth would the Chinese want to take down the entire world wide web??? They rely on exports! Dumbest thing I have read in a long time. sheesh. It is scary thinking that there is a threat, but I would really like to know why the Chinese are suspect!!!

The DNC registry is useless. In order to file a complaint, you need to know the name of the company calling you. And providing the phone number calling you is also useless since the caller ID is always spoofed.
I registered a ton of calls with them a couple of years ago. One of them was an enforceable offence, apparently, but I never pursued it. I should have. I had better luck once Comcast was forced to take action and did so. They have some other kind of filter they can put on your phone number that seems to weed out more calls, but apparently it doesn't catch them all. I will call them again on Monday.

The "IRS" call I got was clearly a violation because they had the caller ID blocked.

So I think I figured something out. Most [I say most cause the kids I used to babysit were very reserved and quiet] kids talk like their life depends on it, and later wonder why their parents 'embarrass' them all the time, it's not ignorance on the parents end...it's payback.
You got it, sister! Those little paybacks are what make it all worthwhile. :D

I hate when that happens. Its ridiculous to gouge the shipping like that. That is pretty much not a sale. Its crappy and low of them to do that in my opinion.
I was shocked! Most stuff ships free but a mod kit costs almost $20? Weird. I ended up getting a really cool LED lightbulb that you control with your phone. It does all kinds of cool stuff. You can adjust the brightness, it can be any color you want on the spectrum, you can set it to music or voice, all kinds of cool stuff. I also got a little magnetic Torx screwdriver for fixing mods, and 20 sonicare toothbrush heads, lol! I added priority shipping and made the total exactly $20, but once the order went through it was $0.12 over! Ugh. So now it says if I don't pay for the order within 24 hours it will be cancelled and they are on holiday. Sheesh. Who knew it would be so hard to spend a $20 gift code??

Shouldn't be so tough, should it?

I know! And it just kinda happened again, lol. I have credit in the form of a gift code from a survey cashout. I thought I could use it at Fanatics so I just spent 90 minutes shopping on there, got a lime green Seahawks compression shirt, 2 pair of slippers (for me and for hubs) and a nice pair of lounge pants, used the 25% facebook coupon, put in the gift code...and found out it's not for Fanatics. It's for Sports Fanfare, who is out of everything I want. UUUGGGHHH.

And to top it all off, not only did my Fuchai not show up today but it fell off the radar when it left Van Nuys, California, at 6:32 am on the 29th. Can someone please call me a whambulance? :(

I have that, too, because of my FAFSA. It's really reassuring to know I have a PIN with them. At least those cyber creeps can't mess that!

No it shouldn't. The email said I need to submit payment within 24 hours or the order is void, yet there's no way to add more points! There's no way to do ANYTHING! I can't even cancel it and start over. So dumb. What will probably happen is the order will void tonight and the stuff I had on that order won't be on sale anymore, lol.

The EFIN is actually used to electronically file tax returns as a professional tax preparer. I prepare about 20 tax returns a year for friends and relatives and the retail software like TaxAct or Turbo Tax limits you as to the number of tax returns you can electronically file, so I need to use professional software. I also have what the IRS calls a CAF number (Central Authorization File) that allows me to contact the IRS on behalf of other taxpayers and represent them before the IRS.

Oh that's cool! Mine is so that the school can access my records. It's some kind of acronym like that but I can't remember what. I know I had to store the number so I can access my federal stuff any time I need to. I know when I forgot it the first time it took an act of congress to get it straightened out, lol! I was unable to get into my tax information until the IRS got it cleared up for me.
