I feel all of your fears. I have so many friends that are of different races or are part of the LGBTQ+ community. I know it's not super obvious and we get more leeway because of it, but my marriage is mixed, too. My husband is Asian.

I think what most people are more afraid of is radical supporters (and the vice president) than the now president-elect. It really opened up a can of worms. I have friends that supported him for what they believe are legitimate reasons that had nothing to do with hate, and I have no place to tell them that what they believe is wrong. I just wish it didn't come down to the choice we had.

I agree. I think if we had had ANY other choice things would have been different.

I wasn't a strong supporter of Trump, and he was not my choice, but I could never vote for Hillary. I have zero trust in her and didn't like that she was "owed" the presidency.

I never heard that. I think we are "owed" some better politicians!

There's actually a fair amount of land around here for sale that isn't too expensive as well. Ideally we would really like to stay in central FL because that is where all of hubby's family and our friends live. My family lives in Georgia, but they are too far north to make moving to north Florida a help and we would be split between both of our families. Ocala is probably as far north as we would like to be if we can help it.

Just so you guys can get an idea of what we were looking at, here is that little yellow house I showed before. You can see how nice it is. Not a fixer upper at all. It's $19.5k.

Yeah. Average for a 2-3 bedroom is probably around $40-50k. Some of the 55+ neighborhoods are only $10k-20k. There's a lot of manufactured homes, but they look so nice and I don't really care as long as I have a roof over my head and room for my pets, lol. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely some nice and pricey houses out there. The houses in the back of my current neighborhood go for like $500k to over a mil, lol. If you can pay $150k+ you are going to get a big, fancy house that probably includes a pool with the Florida room screening.

You might want to check with your bank. Given that Fasttech is located outside the US, your bank may have seen an attempted charge coming from a foreign country and flagged it as a fraudulent transaction and declined it. The same thing happened with my wife when she tried using her debit card to order some cosmetics from an online vendor in Hong Kong.

I've only ever used Paypal to order stuff from the Chinese vendors, even if the money is coming from my bank account or coming from a credit card. It feels safer to me since Paypal adds an extra layer of protection since Paypal doesn't give them access to my CC number.

I have never paid attention to politics or news in general until this 'situation', because most of it is just disturbing, all this madness just takes the cake.
