That's what they were saying. The only source of the stones is Tanzania. Apparently there were only 5 mines, and they are nearly all exhausted, with one of the mines shut down because it collapsed. Diamonds are produced deep in the earth and brought up to the surface by volcanic activity, this means that the supply of diamonds can be replenished over time. But whatever Tanzanite is in hills near Mt. Kilimanjaro is all that there is in the world. So it is considered a generational gemstone, which means that the supply will be exhausted within a couple of generations.Wow, good for you for sticking up for yourselves! Sounds like they are running quite the racket. That bracelet sounds gorgeous. Well, tanzanite jewelry in general is absolutely gorgeous, lol. I remember when it first started getting popular. You could get it for a song the first year but after that the price really escalated. I wish now that I had bought some pieces back then.
I couldn't swim that farThat's some bull. I woulda shot me a sales clerk.
Oh sweetie... if you had asked, we'd have warned you! BTW, be prepared if you watch Max.So I just finished watching Hachiko for the first time ever.....why didn't you all warn me that my eye faucets would be opened up? [emoji38]

Yes, once the contests dried up so did everything elseSo, I've been back for about a day or whatever....
Big question.
What the heck happened to the forum? It's almost like it's populated by ghosts... did the regs screw everything up that bad? There's vendors missing, big names I haven't spotted, etc. It's like going home to visit your parents and noticing downtown got ran over by a bulldozer.
They even gave a pep talk before our first stop...to NOT let things out of your sight once you pay for them...no reboxing or gift wrap, cause 9 times out of 10 you'll get ripped offWow, good for you for sticking up for yourselves! I actually never was big into Rolex. My dad had one, except it wasn't the typical Rolex style. It looked more like a dressy watch. When he passed away, the watch was nowhere to be found. I suspect my brother had sold it.I love me some watches. I have Rolex taste on a timex budget [emoji38]

Well that's good to know. I was afraid the old guard had deserted. Anybody heard from Lannie and Rich?I think it's the holiday lull. Most of the regulars are still around but things have quieted down a little bit lately. The lack of the mega contests has sent a few folks into lurker mode but they seem to pop up when summoned.
BOOOOOO!!!! I mean, I like contests too but jeez...Yes, once the contests dried up so did everything else
The only stores we shopped at were the "big names", like Diamonds International and Effy. I bought my watches from Little Switzerland. You really don't see much savings buying Swiss watches, since the prices are fixed throughout the world. The retail price is the price that is sold by every authorized retailer. In the Caribbean, they add a "Caribbean discount", so you get 15 percent off of the retail price, plus you also don't have to pay sales tax. They even gave a pep talk before our first stop...to NOT let things out of your sight once you pay for them...no reboxing or gift wrap, cause 9 times out of 10 you'll get ripped off
I liked shopping on Grand Cayman...seemed to have the best selection. The only stores we shopped at were the "big names", like Diamonds International and Effy. We also picked up a bunch of liquor in St. Maarten. Two bottles of rum, four bottles of Absolut vodka, two bottles of Bailey's, a bottle of tequila, a bottle of Italian white chocolate liqueur, and a bottle of Cuban coffee liqueur. The Cuban liqueur taste incredible. The store gave us a taste and it tastes just like a smoky maple syrup. 12 bottles of booze for $190. On the ship we also picked up two bottles of tequila and a bottle of Macallan's 18 year old single malt scotch.
And I brought back 6 Cuban cigars for my niece's husband. For once I actually regretted that I no longer smoke, since a carton of smokes went for $35 in the duty free shop on the boat.
We did! Long time ago, lol. That movie is amazing. So sad.So I just finished watching Hachiko for the first time ever.....why didn't you all warn me that my eye faucets would be opened up? [emoji38]

Right. They didn't know that at first so they were selling it at a really reasonable price. I love the stone and I am pretty bummed I didn't get in on them when they were affordable. Of course there are always the simulated ones..That's what they were saying. The only source of the stones is Tanzania. Yup...I've bought a pretty pair of studs on eBay and they look tons better then the real ones I have...and they match! But it's easier for me to find affordable fakes because I like the lighter colored stones.Right. They didn't know that at first so they were selling it at a really reasonable price.
