Last night a friend of mine came over to the house. I don't see him too often but he did go skiing with us on Christmas Eve. He left his wallet in my glove box by mistake that day so he stopped in last night to get it.

He has questioned me a few times about vaping but I couldn't get him to even try one hit of my mods before.

On the car ride up for skiing we pretty much talked vaping and quitting smoking the whole 45 min ride.
I had my Grand with me and he was taking it apart, pulling out the batts (6v) reading the labels and inspecting the carto.

Still couldn't get him to try a puff :(

Well last night he said he wanted links where to buy a good starter kit and what juice I thought he would like. I told him its silly to not try all the flavors I have first to get an idea of what he wants. So I set up five 2Ω cartos fresh with my flavors on hand. He went down the line and liked them all but really liked my Gorilla Juice with some Taboo mixed in.

I even showed him how to drip but he was much more interested in the cartos ..... which is cool with me.

So I tried my best to have him pick one of my REOs and I would give it to him. No go.....

But I gave him 10 cartos and a bunch of juice and some links where to pick up some eGo or kGo kits. He didn't seem to have much interest in REOs but if he sticks with it he will understand the benefits soon enough :D

Oh well, I'll keep after him and see if he stick with it. I hope so.
It would really be great for him because he has very little money and cigs here are so dam expensive.

That is great Tim! It might take him a little while to be a total convert, but he is taking the right first steps! I remember it being a hard decision to buy that first kit. Having you making things available to him is a hugh asset!
Great job! Keep us posted please?

Nice! Once he gets used to vaping he will be BEGGING you to sell him a coveted Reo. Funny how everything looks different after you've vaped for a while.

Congratulations on bringing another smoker to the vape side. It's much cleaner here.:)

Thanks, very true. I'm all for a new vaper to start with a REO but they are much more cherished if start at the bottom and work you way up !!! Kinda like being born with a million dollar trust fund or working for your first million :D

Working you way to the top is much more satisfying.

Wait.. first million.. and you have Reos? I'd really like to be your friend, Tim. :)

Well I was lucky, my parents taught me very well and helped me start my first business when I was still in high school.
So I worked hard and invested well from an early age. I remember being the only one in high school that owned stock :D

My love of apple products for the last 20 years and my love for the stock market made a great combo ** hint ** hint.
So I'm 44 and haven't worked for a few years .... I don't need to again, but I miss getting out and interacting with people.

So I still have some funds in high risk ventures.
A bit going on in low risk.
And when I sold my last business I parked a bunch in NO risk places :D

But I'm still pretty cheap, especially with no real income for spending cash.
I really hate to spend money and put it off as long as I can. When I do I always spend wisely with great products.

Same here!! Well, except that I didn't own any stock in high school. Well, that and I didn't start my first business until well after high school. OK, so I haven't invested in the stock market either. Yeah well, OK, I don't have a buncha loot parked anywhere. And, um, I've never sold a business. And...sigh...I'll probably be working on the day I kick but, other than those minor differences, same here!! :D

At least we both spend wisely on great products - REO!

:)

Nice job Tim and it is always helpful when they finally come to you and ask for assistance. It means he or she have made a difficult decision and its nice you can guide them through the process. I agree with you starting with at least a 650 mah bat. the small 510 or 808s just won't last long enough and could hurt more than help. Keep us posted on your friends progress.

Nice job, Tim! The device doesn't matter...as long as it helps him change his habit :) I remember when I first started...I wasn't even interested in the eGo looking things because I was positive that looking like a cig was the only way it would work for me. The bigger the devices that Wayne brought home, the more severe my skepticism became. Until I got my own REO....even then I wasn't sure. It was a few days before I realized that it might work for me.

Initially ripped off at kiosk in mall, BUT I knew vaping would work for me just not this pv, found this forum second, wish it was first oh well then went straight to Reo mini sold that and have my Grand. It's been over a year so the initial bump in the road was necessary for me to take the first step to stop smoking. Congrats on getting him to try SOMETHING, ANYTHING it could lead to no more cigs and ain't that the point.

My latest convert is... my spousal unit! I got my mini last month and he was interested. Then I got my 18490 and he was IMPRESSED! So our Reos are three - silver/black mini, jatoba/quilted maple 18490 and his belated Christmas gift: an oak/wenge 18490. I've been analog free since August 19th, 2011 and he's getting closer all the time. Happiness!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, Washvap :) I'm going to like being a REOnaut!
Smooth sailing so far with all three, but it's really great to know the support is there in case questions come up.
I'm with you on the 18490s - I'm thinking we'll need to add to the collection when the metal ones are ready! My mini is pretty awesome too, though!
BTW - love your avatar - I made wonderful memories in Seattle - I grew up in Olympia...

Don't mention it. It's good that you aren't running into any issues so far. The metal ones look like they should be available a month or so from now. Not sure though but, it's a great time to start being a REOnaut. The metal 18490's (which might make the 14500's obsolete) and VV REO's are coming out soon as well.

Anyways, thank you very much. How long did you stay in Seattle? It's always good to see more Washingtonains or former Washingtonians on the forum. Makes it feel more comfortable to me at least. Never visited Olympia but, I heard it was a good place from a couple of friends that I met over the years.
