I'm on day 6 of quitting. Cigs here are $4.88 a pack and I could easily do 1 1/2 a day. So right now I'm in the hole as far as saving money but it'll pay off in the end. Plus I feel much better.

Other than juice I only have plans for another pair of batteries. May get them at the shop, afraid of getting fakes. Bought my charger off Amazon, saved some there.
If you don't have a spare Mod get one.

The start up cost of vaping is very unforgiving. But once you found what you can settle down with, it starts to pay off in the end... unless you become like a lot of people here who just keeps on buying and buying and buying.... lol.

If you think you're in a good place and you don't want to find yourself stranded with no mod, and tempted to smoke, I'm going to agree with Mike McVape 100%. Even if you buy something much less expensive and with less bells and whistles. I did that early on and I am glad I did as yesterday I used it for the first time, as a backup, and it was kind of tense at times and if I hadn't had it, I'm pretty sure I would have smoked. I do not want to smoke (that's not to say I don't have cravings at times) but I don't want to smoke just one, because I never know what factors are going to lead "just one" to "OK I'm a smoker again."

My initial costs were high, I made some mistakes, but I'm still glad I did it, well most of it, and can always sell off or give away stuff that isn't to my taste later, so.... (When I joined deeming was a big thing too, hence my decision to buy scads of nicotine and a coilmaster kit). That said, IF I don't spend too much more (and I have little reason to), I will have made up most of that money by 3--4 months of quitting....

Of course it's time for a new tank! It's always time for a new tank! Who you kidding?

That's the way I handle it, anyway :)

And yes, the Big Baby will help you down the road, plus maintain the same coils so you don't have to stock too many types.

Unfortunately, the way to stop using so much juice is raise the ohms and lower the watts, but that's no fun. So the way to not spend so much money buying juice is DIY.

Welcome to the board.

So, ordered tank, bought 60ml juice and ordered 2 batteries.

Wife took my card away...
Just a thought...In just rough numbers...Juice + Coils(Pre-mix MBV = $8 per 30ml)...I'd bet you'd be saving at least $175 per month...And I make a 30ml bottle of DIY with the best ingredients you can buy that runs me about $2.50 per 30ml max...I'm basing that on 3ml per day...Even doubling to 6ml per day you'd save about $140...

Now those are just rough #'s but I'll bet'cha I'm pretty close...A $200 investment in gear starts to look pretty cheap...And $200 can get you a very nice assortment of starter gear & accessories...Better Than Smoking by a long shot in each and every way...Trig :thumbs:

I'm thing hard about it.

Let me ask this question since it's been brought up. How hard is it to create smooth flavors like Caramel/Bourbon, Beards 00, Cuban/Caramel and the like?

I ask because I usually see fruity/baked or fruity/drink types.

I realize it's up to me to blend it, but how hard is it to mix these. I assume (and admit am guessing) the more complex the more difficult.

Not Very Hard At All...And yes they can get complex or as simple as the 2 below...Sniff around the DIY Forum...Look through the "Recipes For Dummies" Thread...Good to get some ideas on flavors "YOU" might want...

FE Turkish 3%
TFA English Toffee 3%
___________________

TFA Banana Nut Bread 6%
FW Butter Pecan 3%
FW Rum 3%

Both of these are quite nice...To ME...And that's one crucial thing about recipes...All very subjective...All you really need are Flavors / Base / Syringes / Bottles...I prefer measuring with syringes...These listed are from above but are just a few of them...

TFA = The Flavors Apprentice
FE = Flavor Express
FW = Flavor West

Poke around ECX(E-Cig Express) and BCF(Bull City Flavors)...ECX also sells pre-made VG/PG Nic Base...
Both of them sell most of the pretty basic gear for mixing as well...

Cool beans, I will look into it. Right after I posted I found the recipe forum. Wife and I are already planning the investment.
Go Slow...And I'm right there with ya'...I've only been DIY'ing for about 3 weeks...Ask questions in that Forum...Tons of good help...One recommendation on "Starting Flavors"...KISS...Keep It Simple Stupid...Some of the more exotic flavors sound great but can be difficult & skip any odd-ball "additives" for another time...

Amen on taking it slow, and start small (10ml test batches) with simple recipes. And beware the temptation to over-flavor your juice! Set yourself a 10-15% boundary for flavoring and stick to it.

I vape way more than I smoked and I spent a lot of money last year on store bought juice and stocking up on gear because of the fear of the deeming regs but I have hardly spent anything this year at all now that I got gear for life and enough DIY for many years of mixing.

Rule number one when buying your first flavoring order is find (2 or 3?) recipes you want to try (that are well reviewed/rated) and buy just those flavors. Don't buy a bunch of flavors that sound good then try and figure out what you can mix with them. I vape 300 - 400ml of juice a month and used to pay 30 - 40 dollars (or more) per 120ml. My DIY juice now costs me about $2 per 100ml.

A cheaper option would be the Ello tank by Eleaf, it's 20$ and can use the same coil heads as the baby beast, actually using it right now on my revenger with the Q2 coils, it's not much of an upgrade but 4ml is more than 3ml.

Looks huge on the Revenger.
Nice to have another option. Eventually will take the advice to get another mod. May pick that up for it.

Gotta wait a bit. Researching wire/cotton and DIY e-juice now. Joining this board has given me almost too much to read.

Yes! It's kind of overwhelming at first. You'll find your sweet spot and pick things up faster than you realize. I kind of focused on DIY before coils, then coils. Doing it that way was easier for me, though I did pick up a coilbuilder kit fairly early on and wire and cotton, but this was before deeming regs were pushed out so I was like, "I will buy all the things!" With that said, I'm not sorry I got them and I know I'll find the right RTA for me in my mailbox at SOME point, or merely the courage to build on another.... My first build choice was a bit finicky but I went into it thinking I would NOT be able to build. I think I can, but maybe not on a tiny 4 post deck, I am pretty clear on the fact that if all else fails, my husband can coil FOR me, if we end up in the (for now provisional, imaginary) bunker :)

Best of luck!
