I'm patiently awaiting my new e-cig (Janty stick). I'm trying hard to not want to smoke a cigar.

I was fine the first couple days. Now I REALLY want one. At first I thought I'd just go with caffeine. Didn't quench it. Having a drink and I can't wait for a cigar right now! I've never really had cravings for them much. I just always had them around.

Ugh I guess I need/like them more then I thought. I was even thinking of canceling my order, but now I think an electric is what is best for me.

I'm anxious, a little jittery, and can't stop thinking about what I want. What do people do when they are having a craving?

Order the cigar flavored juice?

I got some as a freebie from LiteCigUSA.net and put it to side. Kept thinking I had more juice than I really had. So, I'm vaping "cigar" like it was going out of style while waiting for my next order to arrive.

It tastes like I remember cigars taste, only sweeter. I plan on mixing it with chocolate when the new order comes in.

Reread your question. Don't have the ecig yet? Good for you for holding out. I don't think I'd be able to.

If your waiting for your first PV, go ahead and have a cigar!!!
When you start using your PV, and you get the urge, go ahead and have a cigar. Cut back a little at a time and save yourself a lot of stress.

I second the motion. Tigger knows best.

This isn't about quitting in a hurry. This is about using a much better alternative. Until it arrives, don't beat yourself up trying to quit.

I don't think cold turkey is good for a person! Really can ruin your whole day. You're going to be a nervous wreck by the time your JS gets there, so I vote yes for a cigar. You just don't need to be hurting.
You'll be fine!!
I was a 2-3 pack a day smoker, so used 24mg juice for a couple months, and then just cut back to 18mg just because I could. No nerves, as all.
Was really amazingly easy. So give yourself some time. That's what the transition from analog to e-cig is all about, keep yourself within that comfort zone long enough not to panic about it. It'll still be there if you need it, that cigar. You just may not want the stinky thing anymore!! I still carry some dried out old cigarettes in my purse, but had to keep throwing them out of my case to make room for juice, batteries, and an extra atomizer. Imagine throwing away a perfectly good cigarette.
Makes you proud! But I carry them just because!! They're kinda falling apart now, so maybe one of these days, I'll send them off in the garbage. Sure don't miss them. I've come to a point where I know I'm safe now. I just love fog. (With a little nic in it, of course.) Good luck!

I am also doing both. At first I was all down on myself, a nervous wreck, and a B..ch, becuz I was only vaping, and vaping 16 liquid. I have since ordered 24 and hopefully I will get off the analogues all together. The positive thing is that I smoked one pk of cigs in five days instead of my usual 1 1/2 pk a day for almost forty yrs now! I was embarrassed at first to own up to it but I am actually proud that I cut wayyyy back :) I know now that I will not got back to smoking....I am gonna vape my ... off til I am off cigarettes for good:D Good luck, and do whatcha gotta do to keep your sanity!:p Zee

Yes yes, once you get your vape, it will come naturally. I even went the first 3 weeks w/o cigs at all (well, maybe a pack in the 3 weeks total, but alcohol has been involved) and I've actually gone a little down hill, landing at 3-4 cigarettes a night. I want to regret it. But why?

Key point being that I'm only smoking 3 or 4 cigs a night (and by night I mean night, none for the day and then I give in a little; Again, alcohol is an unsupportive foe, but a friend none the less.) That is in comparison to a pack a day for 7 years. Also, about 2 of my friends don't smoke, and...well...I have friends. Its not just the addiction, but the lifestyle of being a smoker you lead...its part of you. Be it cigars or cigarettes: Its part of your life.

So don't trouble yourself with the suffering of losing what might be your favorite thing...your vice; A little part of you that makes you slightly unique. Your addicted in the brain, as well as the drug being supplied to your brain (though it plays a key role in your slow death by inhailation, and the everlasting addiction which we try so hard to destroy.)

You'll succeed a bit, you'll fail a bit, but don't take it to heart. And the day will come when you realize you've not even thought of the cancerous debris you've been inhailing for quite a time. I haven't even reached it after a month, but it's inevitable, and I'll prevail. Trust that you will too. The mind can do more than most think.

And no, I'm not an alcoholic...I just take pleasure in enjoying lifes great intoxicants while I'm not working or at school (full time for both). I'm also a marijuana addict who's been off the green for 5ish days. And let me tell you, I NEVER thought I could part with both at the same time. But I must piss clean, so I do. Again, mind over matter.

I went from smoking a pack - a pack and a half a day for 15 years to smoking none in the blink of an eye. As soon as I got my e-cig I never looked back. It gets a little weird sometimes, though. I'll find myself heading to the door to go have a smoke then think to myself "wait a minute... I just need more juice!"

The point is it's all about who you are and how committed you are to stop smoking; whether it be cigars or cigarettes. If you have NOTHING and you're waiting for a shipment that's not going to come for a day or two, just have a cigar bro! Don't stress yourself out needlessly. As soon as you get your stick in everything will feel right as rain and you'll be back to sayin' "F Cigars" in no time.

I agree - smoke the cigar until your package arrives. You might want to smoke after you get your PV too. I had a bad cold when my PV arrived so it wasn't hard for me not to smoke at all but I wanted to a couple times. I am into my second week vaping and in hindsight, I was pretty ....*y during the first week but now that my cold is gone I've gone through the worst of the "switchover jitters" and everyone just blamed my irritation levels on my cold lol. As my cold faded, I vaped more and more with 18, 24, and 26mg juices and I started feeling a lot better.

Give yourself a break and quit thinking of this as a fast and firm plan that must follow a specific script. Look at this as a journey on the road away from smoking, and accept that for each of us the length of the trip is different.

Also, don’t try to quickly reduce the level of nicotine you vape. In the beginning you should use as high a level as you need to satisfy you. Many folks have found that reducing nicotine early in the process seems to make the need for cigarettes/cigars greater than if they just vape at higher levels, so see what works well for you.

Good luck, and enjoy the vaping.

Stop beating yourself up. A month ago, when I tried my first e-cig, I had three packs left from a carton. I usually smoked that up in a day. It took me two weeks to finish them off--usually at night. I didn't even try to quit. I just slowly displaced cigarettes for e-cigs and finally the e-cigs won.

(It didn't help matters much those first two weeks that I only had two e-cigs...my batteries kept going down on me......so I'd lite up a smoke). One of the first things I found was I'd lost my taste for cigarettes--e-cigs were better).

I smoked a pack a day and I bought reasonably price cigarettes. I can only imagine the angst that comes with buying 2-3 packs a day and watching your money go up in smoke. Among all the other things in cigarettes the cost itself is pretty frightening.

Getting back to cigars, I've never smoked one, but might try the liquid. There's something just so pointless about smoking the same brand of cigarette year after year. With e-cigs I'm loving the world of flavor combinations and possibilities. I've never smoked a clove cigarette, but love the clove flavored juice. It's just so different from a cigarette or other liquids. Like drinking water all your life and being introduced to soda. A cream soda and a mountain dew are at different ends of the spectrum. Like cola? Try cherry cola. Or vanilla cola.

One thing that always got me is why e-cigars aren't more popular. The battery life it probably double that of a regular e-cig. The cartridges are huge, bigger than most pen styles. You'd think they'd be the rage, but I don't think I've seen a single mention of the e-cigar (not that I've searched). I guess it's kind of like the e-pipe. Just not enough interest.

I think I'll add some cigar juice to my next order and give it a shot. In the future will expecting patients give pink cigar e-juice if it's a girl and blue e-cigar juice if it's a boy? Or will they just give RY4 e-juice if it's a clone?!

P.S. Yeah, these are the thoughts right here that remind me I need to go to bed at a decent hour.

Oh man UPS screwed the shipment up and it went to the wrong place. Now it won't be here until the 30th!

Go ahead and have a cigar. This isn't like 'quitting smoking' where if you have one you're going to revert.

Where do you live? Maybe someone near has an extra ecig.... That's one of the reasons for the sticky that says put your location in your profile.
