Hello all I have been vaping about 2 months now and enjoy it more than smoking. I do still have the occasional analog mostly due to the environment I am in I guess. I am an AH64D pilot in Afgahnastan again ( love this resort NOT ). I started vaping due to the fact my kids hate me smoking my wife hated me smoking and it was time to quit. I was in the TOC ( tactical operation center ) and my intelligence guy had a blu, I asked some questions and went back to my room and bought one oops. Before it even arrived I found this forum and was upset lol. Used it for about a week and ordered an ego mega/tank setup. I like the ego but have come to hate the carts, the tanks aren't bad though even if they do muffle the taste of some of my e-liquid. Currently I have so cartomizers I got from HALO which so far are my current favorite. I decided about a week ago I still wanted better and more and most importantly something that has good all day battery and all day liquid. I also needed something I didn't need to mess with in the aircraft while I am flying around 6-8 hours a day, I just need it to work. Tanks last me 2-3 hours, cartomizers 4-5 hours. This is due to the fact I breath through my ego and the fact I am living in a desert at 6000 ft msl. So I researched and read all about 2 upgrades the reo mini and the glv3 mini. I finally took the glv3 mini plunge this morning and hope to get it in Aug at the house when I come home home for 2 weeks with the family. I wonder how many mods I can sell after getting the glv3 lol. After I bought my blu I got 6 people to buy them after I got the ego all 6 of them bought ego's. It's all been trial and error for us over here as we have to wait 2-3 weeks for liquid let alone anything else but so far we are all staying away from analogs for the most part, And helping each other out on supplies as we wait for the really reliable mail system here. All in all I am happy as I am buying health but i am spending the same as I did for analogs as I am for vaping now.
Maybe I can save money in the future.

I was doing the math earlier, analog vs PV. I've got an eGo-Tank, and with the amount I vape, even if I buy a new starter kit every month, it's still less than the price of analogs. I was spending around 200 dollars a month on smokes...where-as the eGo-t kit cost me 70, and even if I try every flavor I can find...I'd be hard pressed to drop another 130 on flavors....assuming I don't go crazy(er). Although the Low-Res atomizers and extended batteries do sound like a good route for me.
I come up to $60 for the stupid blu, $70 for the ego mega another $30 for the tanks and atty. $200 in E- liquids as I buy 30 ml sizes in groups of 5-6, samplers dont work in afghanistan were i can go 2-3 weeks or even a month waiting on something. And the $220 today for my new toy the GLV3 mini so in 2 months I am $580. So I am content like I said it should come down in price in the future. I am looking forward to my new PV. If I can stay on it I will save also I won't need as much of a supply on hand once I finish this deployment out either so E-liquid should go down in cost/month aswell.
Realistically, once you find a PV that you like, if you're going the e-juice route and not pre-filled carto's.... I'm going through about 2-3ml/day, and at $6/15ml... That's like 30-40 dollars per month for juice. I'm sure it's cheaper elsewhere too.
I wish there was a way to get that new PV to you right away, along with enough juice to make sure you all won't run out. Your post was inspiring, we don't realize how easy we have it here at home - thanks for your service, and I hope your wife and kids are thrilled about your quitting.
After you find the love of your life (PV & liquid), things will calm down and you will spend less than if you were on analogs.
