While I can get away with it, since I am horribly intoxicated (thank God for running-spell-check ala Firefox) I thought I'd post an update.

36mg/mL tested supposedly equal to 36mg/mL menthol from TW. I assure you, I was sober enough to use calc.exe when I tested... a friend ordered 36mg chocolate mint from TW... it tested as 28.25-28.5 (depending how you round) mg/mL. He received it yesterday, and ordered it less than a week ago.

I traded him 20mL banana for 10mL of the chocolate menthol, but still, if you are a stickler for exactly what you order, you should consider testing things. It, like most TW liquid is very very off in mg, but still produces great vapor.

I'm going to limit my posting to this post only and go to bed. Hooray for 30 (sad sigh)! I am officially 30 years old as of 3 hours and 6 minutes ago (time of typing), and think after this much ABC Brand rum, it's time for bed.

Huzzah, goodwill, etc etc etc

Edit: Wouldn't be me without an edit, lol. Glancing at my inbox, mortal online forums was first to thank me for my bday on the 17th, ecf was the second (also on 17th),gamerzneeds was the first actually on my bday, the 18th. I'll curl up with my cat Booger now, pictured as my avatar. See you on the sober side. - Thorn

My test is a very small variation on a method DVap created. I found an easy as pie way to get the necessary stuff. Here's the 'what when where' and you can already guess the 'why'.

You'll need:
.12N Sulfuric Acid
Bromthymol Blue
Distilled Water
A 10mL graduated beaker, .2 graduations is fine, but get .1 if you can

Where to get things:
If you have access to a pool supply store, you can probably get the sulfuric acid and bromo blue there. If not, you can order them...

Welcome to Taylor Technologies
Welcome to Taylor Technologies

Yes, cheaper to order than walk into a store for them.

Distilled water must be distilled, not filtered, not tap, not mineral, not carbonated... distilled. Get it at the grocery store.

The beaker I found at the local hobby shop. It was a replacement piece for a chemistry set. You can try hobby shops, or online.

Now, to test...

Firstly, when measuring levels, you'll notice that liquid 'dips down' in the center of a beaker... you ALWAYS measure where its at the lowest point... never the sides.

Rinse the beaker with distilled water, swirl it good, pour it out.
Do it again.
Do it again.

Now, put 1mL of eliquid in the beaker. Careful to get it at the bottom and not dribbled down the sides.

Next, put 2 drops of blue in it, again, get it down the bottom, don't dribble it all over the place.

Now, fill the beaker to the 3mL mark with distilled water. Swirl it a bit to mix it well.

This next part is the fun part.

Add a drop of the .12N sulfuric acid. Swirl it, watch the color.

Keep adding acid, a drop at a time, swirling to mix in-between drops.

As you add a drop, swirl, add a drop, swirl..... you will progress from blue to bluish-green to greenish... then there will be 'the drop' where it turns pale yellow. You'll know it when it happens.

Now, measure the total liquid volume and subtract 3.
Now you know exactly how many mL acid was added.
Multiply this number by 19.4712

The number you get is the mg/mL of nicotine, or very very close to it. Obviously, its not perfect out to many decimal places, but it is close enough for a simple at-home test.

Example (copy and paste from another board I posted this on)
When I measured one of my 24mg/mL, I put in the 1mL liquid, 2 drops blue, filled to 3mL using distilled water, swirled it around, added a drop of sulfuric, swirled it, add a drop, swirl, ....several more drops and lots more swirling...., add a drop, swirl it, finally got the 'yellow' and measured the level as about a hair over 4.2, which I estimated as 4.21mL.

Now, take 4.21 and subtract 3.
You get 1.21
Now multiply this number by 19.4712
You get 23.560152, which I rounded off to 23.5.

Its labeled as 24mg/mL, and testing showed it at 23.5mg/mL. This is close enough, and likely off due to adding the flavor to the liquid, which increases volume.

I got a lot of various liquids from someone who sold me their low voltage supplies (hooray for the sales forum here), and testing showed all but 1 of them within 1mg of what they were listed as, some slightly under, some slightly over. One was 1.5mg off. I had ordered some TW menthol liquid, and it tested as WAY under (about 30, rated for 36), now a friend ordered chocolate mint which was even further off... as I already posted. One 'bad batch' I could understand, however this is the second bottle of their 36mg I've tested that's been way off. Great flavor from them, great vapor too, but sadly, their mg/mL is so very off.
