Mech Batteries

Hi guys,
So for Christmas, I got a REO Grand. It works great and I've built some coils and squonked and I've just really been enjoying it. I did notice that the new batteries that were recommended have been slowly losing charge. What I mean is that I used to be able to use a battery for two days before it needed to be recharged, but now it's just day.
So I went on Amazon and checked out their 18650 batteries and I found these interesting, Two 3400mAh PROTECTED 18650 Orbtronic (Panasonic NCR18650B cell inside) Li-ion Rechargeable Batteries, and Smart 3 speeds battery charger Kit (Latest Version) - Amazon.com.
It's expensive, but if I get longer life, both daily and over a lifetime, it'll be worth it.

My current coil is at 1.3 ohms and I'm using AWR 2000 mah efest batteries.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I won't buy those batteries now. That was good info.
The last coil I had setup was 1.6, now it's at a 1.3. Seems to be holding up a li'l better. The juice seems to build up on the coil and the coil doesn't get hot enough, and I have to hold the button down for longer. Does anyone know how to maybe fix that? Am I doing something wrong?

sony... vtc4... 30amp... 2100Mah... hah.

Check your contacts and clean um, Put it back together and try again.

are your coils glowing from the inside out?

The Sony is a good choice, tis what I run in my mechs. good to have just in case you decided to go lower. The new Efest Purple 18650 35 amp would be worth a consideration, if one could find them in stock.

AWR ? Never heard of this. Sure this is not a mistake or typo?

I'm not surprised to read of your Efests dropping in performance over a short period of time. This has been my experience with the brand myself and have stopped using them.

I'll agree with cramptholomew, the Panasonic NCR18650PF 2900mAh are the top general purpose battery on the market today if you are not going to be subjecting them to sub-ohm coil builds.

If you do sub-ohm less than 0.8 then you should use a battery with 20 - 30 amps continuous discharge rate. You can find a list of high drain batteries with their amp ratings in this blog:

I just changed out juice bottles, and checked the coil that was on there. It was at 4.0! Tightened down a terminal post, and viola, back down to 1.3. I thought I had tightened down that thing, haha.
Does noalox or any other dielectric grease really help that much? I've only had the mod since Christmas, so the pin wouldn't become corroded so soon.
I wondered about the Efest batteries. Both have been dropping off about the same time, so I wondered if that was a brand problem.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. Really helpful!
